Bio
Meagan de Lima is a 25-year-old singer-songwriter who is revolutionizing what it means
to be an R&B artist in the Canadian music scene. Meagan is admired for her velvet tone, her
natural way of playing guitar, and her sophisticated songwriting. She draws inspiration from
artists such as Sabrina Claudio, Daniel Caesar, and Corinne Bailey Rae. Upon listening to the
artist, Canadian Beats Reviews said: “Meagan’s music is the perfect example of what soft, soulful R&B can sound like, in a generation that needs the reminder.”
Meagan released her EP “Like You Do” in 2015, which aired on CBC Radio in addition
to becoming available on all digital streaming platforms. Upon graduation at Humber College,
Meagan was selected by faculty to be produced by Bob Ezrin (prod. Pink Floyd, Alice Cooper,
Kiss). After working with Meagan, Ezrin stated:
“Who knew that we could find this much soul at Humber College!? Meagan has that natural
swing and sway in both her writing and her singing that we usually associate with classic R&B
from south of the border. It was truly refreshing - and a lot of fun - to arrive at Humber and be
able to work with this talented young woman on her project. She’s the real deal!”
Meagan’s major accomplishments to date include performing at the 2017 Invictus Games,
the 2017 TD Toronto Jazz Festival, winning the 2013 Honey Jam competition, as well as opening
for Holly Cole and Emilie-Claire Barlow at the Oakville Jazz Festival. Meagan will be releasing
her first single titled "Unfold Me" Fall 2018 along with a full length album anticipated for release
in 2019.
