MAURI

Argentinean songwriter, Mauri moved to NYC in 2007 and dedicated the next 2, to write more than 9 songs…
In December 2009, after absorbing the multicultural and sweet flavor of the Big Apple, having performed at Public Assembly, Village Underground, Bowery Poetry Club and many summer festivals throughout the metropolitan area, she flew down to Argentina to record her album debut “MAURI”. A refined combination of Jazz , Rock and Reggae songs written in English and Spanish, with a modern sound and a vintage color.
Together with Santiago Olariaga, Uruguayan guitar player, producer and friend, who has played and toured among others, with music legend Ruben Rada, and rock sensation, Sylicon Fly, they recruited music school classmates and friends Manuel Llosa, Lautaro Burgos and Ruben Casco, to arrange as a band, the album “MAURI”.
"MAURI" was recorded live (all musicians playing at the same time) by young, recording engineer Tatu Estela who has worked with big names like Javier Malosetti and Jorge Drexler, to name a few.
The result is MAURI, an original sound that explores the instruments’ natural timbres, applying the electronic music concept of generating loops and grooves but using clean instruments played live. An extra layer of alternative instruments was added in post production by producer Olariaga. Harp, glockespien, percussion and vocal FX that in live performances are triggered as sequences.
Nadina’s charisma and interpretation make songs come alive every time she goes on stage. Men appreciate a beautiful woman that can sing her heart out. Women, love lyrics that talk about heart break, lies and cowardice like in “Me Voy”, and there’s those who agree on: “We are what we want to become” an ode to mind and spirit evolution, positive thinking and presence.
Now, back in Brooklyn, the band is in the hunt of releasing the album in the US, meeting beautiful people, and bringing their music to the exotic corners of the world.
