"One listen to Jensen and it’s crystal clear that she’s a natural. Often accompanied only by an acoustic guitar, Jensen’s voice soars — gorgeous, passionate and honest. Her folk-pop tunes are simple but affecting. She’s not trying to impress with her vocal range or guitar skills … she’s just opening her heart and letting the listener inside."

“I felt such a range of emotions during her concert! The first song almost brought me to tears. She talked about a lot of things that I could identify with, a lot of personal struggles that we all go through. She just speaks of the human condition so well.” - Audience Member, Live Show

Bio
If Shania Twain, Sheryl Crow, and Norah Jones harmonized camp songs in the car on the way to the beach, after an intense spiritual conversation on a swingset... it might sound like singer-songwriter Maura Jensen.
An introvert by nature, Maura has overcome her stage fright with years of performing everywhere from church to living rooms to festivals to the Berklee Performace Center in Boston, MA. Slowly but most definitely, Maura has traded in her shyness for the confidence that she is making a difference with her songs, and in the process has become quite the poised communicator.
She has shared the stage with acoustic pop sensation Matt Wertz, the one-man guitar orchestra Trevor Gordon Hall, and various Baltimore favorites, such as ilyAIMY, The Jon Bailey Band, and T.U.R.N. She is quickly emerging as a prominent folk singer and songwriter among the east coast festival and coffeehouse circuits.
Maura’s live shows have a tendency to take audiences by surprise, as her meek and thoughtful personality and consequent raw, beautiful performances pack quite the punch. Says Scarlet Keys, Professor at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, “[Maura] is very understated as a person, then she humbly plays live and stops the room.” One audience member confessed during an after-show video interview, “I felt such a range of emotions during her concert! The first song almost brought me to tears. She talked about a lot of things that I could identify with, a lot of personal struggles that we all go through. She just speaks of the human condition so well.” Another exclaimed, “The songs unlock stuff on a heart-level that most music just doesn’t touch. They’re spiritual, and they’re deep. I mean, I feel like I just had a feast tonight!”
Between regional touring, Maura is in the process of recording her debut album "Silk & Steel", a followup to her self-recorded "The Unrefined" EP.
