"PERSONAL VIEWS: The Best of 2014 from Cities Across Canada"

"Layne L'Heureux's new project Maude just released a video for "I Want To Know You More." The song and the video both feature Caity Fisher (Tee-Tahs, Caity Fisher and the Final Frontier). It's sexy and bleak and silly, a skateboard video gone wrong mixed with a grindhouse film score. Well worth hearing and seeing!" - Chart Attack

Bio

Aesthetically embracing Kawaii, while sonically delivering a fresh heaping of kitsch pop. Taking notes from Vaporwave, Disco, and Dream Pop, Maude dusts off the cringe worthy straight to VHS soundtrack, and sprinkles their own blend of steamy influence into the mix.

Maude's debut record Harakiri reminds one of an forgotten exploitation film score, themes of late night drives through dirty streets, peeps shows, and a cast of derelict characters who's voyeuristic tendencies become apparent in satirical but honest reflections.

Harakiri plays out like a document of oddities one sees in the late evening, with hedonism's most prevalent virtues in play, lyrically partaking in the darker avenues of
conviviality and mixing them with a synth driven soundtrack that touches on italo disco and psyche. An album that should be played on rainy inner city nights while driving through the streets in leering intent.

"Late night kitsch-pop classic hits. One of Alberta's best-kept secrets, for now. It's the soundtrack to your memory of the drive home from that party you forgot you attended, where all your friends switched faces and danced." - Post Namers
