OUR HISTORY

Evan Antal and Jake Glenn met in the fall of 2009 in Boston while attending Berklee. We quickly discovered that we share a very deep rooted passion for making rock n’ roll music and having a boatload of fun while we’re doing it! We set out writing music and playing right away, and have since written an extensive list of originals and worked out many of our own takes on covers of tunes by bands and writers that we love. In September of 2010, Jake met drummer Jordan Brooks through a mutual friend. Since our first jam as a trio we’ve been playing, literally, as much as possible and are recording our first album, Up Front & The Back Seat Love, early 2011 at Ramble Creek Studio in Austin, Texas. OUR MUSIC

Our music is organic rock n’ roll; a mix of blues, psychedelic rock, funk, folk, bluegrass, latin, and jazz. Influences we draw from are Jimi Hendrix, The Grateful Dead, The Beatles, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Phish, Old 97's, The Eels, Bob Dylan, and Simon and Garfunkel.

“MAUCE”

Mauce is a spin off of the word “moss” that we like to use to give whatever activity is at hand a legit “lets do it” attitude and enthusiastic spirit. Ex: Firefighters moss fighting fire. When we first got together to write music we always used to say “let’s moss!” and then, when we were pondering a name for ourselves, this floated into our minds and seem to fit like a missing puzzle piece, capturing the spirit with which we like to make music, both with each other and anyone listening.
