Bio
Matt Rogers is making fans around the world without leaving the 615.
With
a weekly residency at Ole Red, the Blake Shelton/Grand Ole Opry joint venture
in the heart of Music City, Rogers has reached a growing global audience
enamored by his raw, country-at-heart/blues-in-his-soul style of music.
The
award-winning songwriter has a stacked tour schedule but said playing for fans
from every state and dozens of foreign countries on any given night in Nashville
is a completely different experience. Rogers has enjoyed a stage-front seat to
the undeniable power of music as a pathway that connects people no matter where
they call home.
A
Georgia native, Rogers comes by his humor and heart naturally. Throughout his
career he has created a bond with his listeners through his emotionally gripping
lyrics and unmistakable melodies.
Rogers’ self-penned new music reached an even bigger audience in 2021 after signing with Nashville-based Vere Music, with national distribution partner ADA. His debut single, “Fallout,” about the painful aftermath of heartbreak, his follow up the trust-testing “Be Like Him,” and “Thunderbird,” with a message of father/son bonding and deeper lessons, are garnering media attention.
“Over his last few releases, “Be Like Him,” “Fallout,” and now “Thunderbird,” Matt Rogers has really started to establish himself as one of country music’s newest artists that we need to be keeping an eye on. His rich vocals wrap around lyrics that hold deep emotions and strongly connect with the listener, whether they’re geared towards heartbreak, trust, or in the case of “Thunderbird,” the life lessons we learn from dad and pass down through generations,” offered Today’s Country magazine.
Rogers
has been releasing music since moving to Nashville in 2017 including his
critically acclaimed sophomore EP, Richest Place On Earth. His single
“Peaches and Pecans” from the project pays homage to the Peach State and was a
popular anthem at University of Georgia home games at Stanford Stadium during their
2018 standout football season.
In
2019, Rogers’ single “Burn The Boat” made waves when it landed on Buzzfeed’s
“Top 10 Hottest Country Summer Jams” alongside songs by Luke Combs and Carrie
Underwood. The release followed his third appearance at CMA Fest where he
performed on several stages, including Hard Rock and Wildhorse Saloon and signed
autographs at the Durango Boots booth inside the popular fan/artist hotspot Fan
Fair X.
Rogers
still maintains an extensive tour schedule playing venues across the country
and sharing the stage with some of country music’s hottest names including
Clint Black, Clay Walker, Jake Owen, Cole Swindell, Chris Stapleton, LOCASH,
Jimmie Allen, Walker Hayes, Brothers Osborne, Chris Janson, and Michael Ray.
Known
for his energetic stage show, Rogers is equally at home in the writers’ room. When
he isn’t on the road, Rogers is writing music with some of Nashville’s best tunesmiths.
His
song, "Coal," has won several songwriting awards from NSAI/CMT, Music
City Songstar, American Songwriter, Songwriting University, and
Mid-Atlantic Song Contest. He achieved the top award from Music City SongStar
for his song, "She Was Everything," as well as a finalist slot in the
USA Songwriting Competition. Nashville Songwriters Association International
(NSAI). and CMT selected his song “I Was Raised” for a songwriting achievement
award and it went on to be selected by NSAI as a Top 40 song.
Fans
and the music industry are taking notice including country music legend TG
Sheppard, who opined that Rogers is “the real deal…the total package. A great
singer, a great picker, and a great songwriter.”
Rogers
has also received recognition from industry tastemakers including Robert K.
Oermann, who selected the title track of Matt’s EP, Richest Place On Earth,
for Music Row’s DisCovery Award, praising the cut saying, “Extremely
well written and sung with fire and conviction. Play this.” And from songwriter/author
and radio personality Devon O’Day, who said, “If you don’t know the name Matt
Rogers then you need to write it down. He’s going places.”
“I’m
really excited to reconnect with my fans that have been supporting me for so
long and to get the chance to connect with some new fans along the way,” says
Matt. “I can’t wait to get on stage and share my new music I’ve worked so hard
on with them.”
“Meeting so many people from all over the globe has given me a deeper understanding of what matters and what moves people,” said Rogers. “The way they respond and the support they provide is a deep well I constantly draw from as a performer and writer. They are the fuel.”
