Bio
At the age of 8, Mathie picked up his father's guitar and never put it down again. He spent the next 2 decades exploring different genres by playing in jazz ensembles, rock bands, and as a solo artist. Rock, Folk, Jazz, Funk, Jam, Solo Acoustic, etc.
Ultimately, Mathie's passion for music shines best on a bare stage with just a microphone and his guitar; his soulful voice, his musicianship and his engaging presence and humor make for an awesome, inspirational experience. And always, you will walk away with at least one of his songs spinning in your head.
Mathie has been playing coffee houses,clubs, the college scene, and major rock venues for years.

Occasionally, Mathie performs with guest vocalist Tawny, who also frequently sings with ex-Mekons rock legends Jon Langford and Sally Timms. She's also performed with Canadian alt-country group The Sadies and singer Rosie Flores. Together they weave delicate, soulful harmonies with a serious rock and roll edge, making for a truly diverse and exciting show.
