Bio
Jon’s songs remind the voiceless and the rest of us that we aren’t alone while screaming at the oppressors. The revolution his songs will lead will be spiritual, or not at all. His lyrics and virtuoso guitar work grow together in song structures that resemble a combination of Nirvana and Metallica. His innovative chord structures and progressions draw from a strong foundation of theory, but like Hendrix, he isn’t afraid to break the rules. His influences also include Kurt Cobain, Janis Joplin, and Jim Morrison. Jon became the musician he is in part by spending time with them on the other side. Some people believe Jon is the reincarnation of Jimi Hendrix. But like Hendrix told Jon in a dream, “You don’t know anything about this.”
Adam creates a low end that drives the rhythm and feel of Mary’s Ghost with authority. His strong sense of timing and musical space adds hooky dynamics and grooves that coax hearts to beat faster. Influences include Roger Waters, John Paul Jones, Rex Brown (Pantera), and Cliff Burton. He’s got special Jedi-like powers, but he doesn’t so much agree with the fashion statement of hooded capes. He prefers a leather riding jacket.
Rob Foor has been in 12 bands, he is an experienced musician with 19 years behind the drumset. His power and versatility adds energy, dynamics and musical intelligence that is elemental to the overall sound and feel of Mary’s ghost. His influences include the way the universe bangs on the floor everynight telling everyone it’s time to wake up or shut the hell up.
