"Mike Miller"

"Spinning the Sky has a seamless, soulful groove that I find very intoxicating. Jazzy at times, folkie at others, even when dipping into Indian or Island flavors, it remains consistent to an overall laid back vibe. Mary's songs tumble forth with poetic grace revealing insights that invite the listener to read along as she sings. She is a marvelous singer and songwriter."

Mary Hocks — Lots of singer-songwriters are described as "literate," but in the case of this Atlanta artist, it's an even more fitting term given her day job in the English department ....[T]he music on her debut album Spinning the Sky mixes jazz, folk and pop to come up with a relaxing yet powerful presentation that will go down easy with fans of K.D. Lang, Julia Fordham and Jonatha Brooke. Guests on the record include Danielle Howle, Elaine Townsend and producer Chris Rosser; guests at this concert include Howle, Townsend and Free Planet Radio.
