Bio
Maris Maeve O'Tierney (maris maeve), an Alaskan born singer-songwriter, broke into the Chicago music scene with her latest album, "inflection point." Building from her background as a classically trained musician (voice, guitar, piano), she draws inspiration from an eclectic blend of musical influences. Often likened to Sarah McLachlan and Regina Spektor for her lyrical piano and vocals, Maris' music also intersects with the rhythms of her Irish roots for a sound all her own.
Maris Maeve often collaborates with her identical twin sister, violinist Bryce Quinn O'Tierney (bryce quinn), in live performance. "fusion", a collaborative track from Maris' second album, headlines gig sets.
Maris' debut CD, "Flowing Still," was released in August 2010, followed by "room to build," in September 2011 (original music for vocals, guitar, and piano). "inflection point," her third studio album, debuted September 2012 in Chicago.
