Recorded in Göteborg under Peter Von Poehl's direction, « Outland » is Marie Modiano's 2nd album after « I'm Not A Rose ». Written in English, this album reveals 12 delicate and dreamlike pop songs providing a rich variety of tones. "Drifters In The Wood" has country accents while "Martin" recalls Donovan's British folk. But "Outland" was not only cut out from melancoly: with its hopping bass line and back vocals, "Spider's Touch" is definitly meant to become a classic piece of pop. Marie Modiano toured with a trio formula last winter, opening for Patrick Watson, Yael Naïm or The Do. With this new album, Marie definitly becomes a headliner!
