“Mallory's debut, The First One Hundred Years, a kaleidoscopic assortment of ambient sounds, churning Post-Punk rhythms, wild-eyed guitar interplay, and winding, engaging arrangements and compositions. The First One Hundred Years is a mesmerizing piece of work.”

“This is quite honestly an amazing band. ...[mallory] form such a unique sound, it’s hard to categorize them into a specific genre, but they’ve got some post-punk sensibilities that really shine through. I have never been to a show where most of the people there watched the entire opening local act.”
- Brainlove, British web zine review of live show with Interpol, January 2003.

Bio
At times ambient. At times rock. At times a confusing din. Two guitars…a drum kit… an occasional Rhodes. Someone sings (sometimes two). mallory cultivates a sound that breathes structure, but secretly lives in free-form - an ever changing collage living inside the music created by their environment. The three creep between distorted happiness and subversive darkness.
mallory's brand of sound and dynamic live experience has led to performances with Interpol, Calla, Clinic, T.V. on the Radio, Ratatat, Mates of State, Deerhunter, Buffalo Killers, Forget Cassettes, & Heartless Bastards ...among others.
mallory supported and played prominent slots the first three years of MPMF. The band emerged again during MPMF 2008 and are due to release "...before it grows" - a follow up to their 2003 CEA Album of the Year, "the first one hundred years."
