The best kept secret in music

Then look no further than Soulsoak, a new band that sounds remarkably similar to the popular band, Third Day hailing from Georgia, with a bit of Shaded Red and Satellite Soul thrown in. In fact, Tim Suttle of Satellite Soul produced this six-song EP—no doubt he met the guys of Soulsoak in their shared hometown of Kansas City. These guys can rock and Dave Lingenfelter's vocals are reminiscent of John Popper (Blues Traveller) or Jamie Roberts (Shaded Red).
A worthy addition to the Christian roots rock genre dominated by Third Day.

Think again! Kansas is the home to many Christian artists...Jennifer Knapp, Satellite Soul...and now the fresh sounds of Soulsoak are emerging from the Midwestern town of Kansas City.
Soulsoak is a 5-piece modern rock band that was formed in 1997. With warm guitars, tight percussion, and unique vocals, the catchy sound of Soulsoak is beginning to resonate across the states. They have been compared to the likes of Matchbox 20, Counting Crows, and Third Day.
Most importantly, the passions that dwell in the hearts of the members of Soulsoak is what distinguishes their music and their ministry. Jerry Umscheid (lead guitar) says, "As individuals and as a band, we trust God. Our part is to plant the seeds, He'll take care of the rest." Dave Lingenfelter (vocals) follows up with, "We want to show his love through our lives and our music. Jesus gave his life for us so we in return well do the only sensible and right thing and give our lives for him."
Soulsoak has had the opportunity to play all over the states. Two of their songs, "Close to You" and "Crown" have been receiving radio airplay nationwide and in UK and Chile, with new stations being added every month. Most recently, they have been featured on HM Magazine's Compilation (GMA Issue) and reviewed by ChristianityToday.com as "a worthy addition to the Christian Roots rock genre." Listen.com says, "Kansas City rockers Soulsoak play high-energy modern rock ala Live or Collective Soul. Neither too soft nor too heavy, this band is perfect for the getting-in-touch-with-my-youth types."
