Bio

Love Past Blue™, an award-winning, Dallas-based indie alternative rock band, recently released their self-titled debut EP January 6, 2017 on iTunes, Amazon, and Spotify. The album features seven original songs, all written and performed by members ranging in age from 13-17 years old at the time of recording. Love Past Blue’s style and attitude is appropriately sassy and bold, with a sound that draws upon diverse genres including jazz, funk, classic rock, and pop.

Love Past Blue’s recordings were produced and mixed by Randy Copus of Galactic Playground, and mastered by multi-platinum music producer Michael Wagener, known for his work on Metallica’s Master of Puppets album. Although Love Past Blue’s sound leans more alternative-pop than hard rock, Wagener’s mastering techniques were a perfect fit, accentuating drums and guitar and giving the music a richer, fuller sound.

The band started turning heads in the Spring of 2016, after winning Best Band and Best Vocalist Awards at Wildflower Music Festival, and performing as a finalist at the Dallas International Guitar Festival's Texas Top Ten Under 20 Competition. It was at that competition that Clio, Joe and then-drummer Sam, met Jack, another finalist, and not long afterward, they decided to join forces. “Everything just clicked,” said Clio. “It was like we’d all been playing together for months.”

Love Past Blue’s natural chemistry and instant friendship propelled the young band through a crazy week-long blitz of songwriting and recording, and helped them work out the details of their live show. “Last summer was crazy,” said Joe. “We spent almost every day together, and I think that really helped us to develop our sound, which is sometimes mellow, sometimes in-your-face, but usually a funky, audacious mix of pop and rock.”

In June 2016, Love Past Blue brought their show to Houston for SpringBoard South, and in January 2017, they headed to San Diego, California for SpringBoard West. Both music festivals were designed to bring emerging artists and music industry professionals together for mutual benefit. For Love Past Blue, this led to a partnership with legendary management consultant Vicky Hamilton, who is perhaps best known for launching the careers of multi-platinum bands Guns 'N Roses and Poison.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be working with Vicky,” said Clio. "She really knows what it takes to make it in this business, how to get us connected and in front of the right people.”

“Love Past Blue has all the things I look for in a new band,” said Hamilton, “great songs, good players, strong performers that feature a charismatic lead singer. This is especially impressive coming from a band whose four members are all under eighteen years of age. The first time I saw Clio sing I fell in love with her. She is cute, sassy, and confident. Her sexy voice glides over the tracks like a seasoned pro, channeling early Gwen Stefani meets Katy Perry."

As a direct result of working with Vicky, Love Past Blue will be descending upon Los Angeles this summer for a five-gig stint, performing at venues like the famous Whisky a Go Go and the Alchemy Castle. Armed with new music and a re-imagined live show, the band will connect with a variety of music industry professionals, followed by an eight-day recording session with music producer Sylvia Massy in Oregon.

“It’s amazing to see what we’ve been able to accomplish in basically just a year,” said Clio. “We’ve had some awesome opportunities and met some great people that have really helped us move forward. There are so many exciting things on the horizon for us as a band, and I think we’re all ready for the next chapter.”
