The Los Angeles fivesome LonelyTrees consists of Annalee Fery, Amy Wood, Max Braverman, George Linev, and Christian Stone, and their debut, self-titled LP was released this past March. Specifically based in Silverlake, LonelyTrees was formed by Stone (formerly of Campfire Girls) and Ferey (of Monsters Are Waiting), whose past projects have been rooted in alt-rock with heavy use of dream-pop/shoegaze elements. I keep coming back to a far less hazy Blonde Redhead when trying to draw a comparison, as Lonely Trees choose not to bury their vivid vocals or prominent instrumentals. The debut LP has the feel of early stuff from Robin Pecknold or Arcade Fire, in that it clearly has the potential to be appreciated by a mainstream audience while retaining an inherent credibility. The album is not available digitally yet, but for now check out “Flutter” and the track’s corresponding video, and keep watch for further details regarding the digital availability of the debut LP from Lonely Trees… - Jon - Aerial Noise Blog
The second act, Lonely Trees, really stood out. If The Cardigans and Metric had an indie love-child, the result would be Lonely Trees. This five-piece band stole the show (and our hearts). In fact, we're listening to their music as we type this. Their songs are hauntingly melodic and dreamy (not to mention, hella catchy). Most indie bands can lull you to sleep, but Lonely Trees stays upbeat and demands your attention. We dug their style and wanted to covet guitarist and singer Christian Stone's vintage Boy Scouts shirt. Lead singer Annalee Fery exudes an adorable indie Zooey Deschanel vibe and contorts her body and fingers as she sings, which provides sort of an odd, but highly intriguing stage presence. Perhaps they intentionally saved their best song for last last night. Their drum-heavy song "Flutter" sounds radio-ready to us. We have a feeling this band isn't going to remain 'unsigned' for long. - Jena Ardell - LA WEEKLY BLOG
L.A. quintet Lonely Trees put the finishing touches on their debut album over the holidays, and based on their early outings [see also: "No Man's Love" premiere], it should be a good one. Release plans are still fuzzy, though, and in the meantime Christian Stone, Annalee Fery and bandmates have made a video for their song “Flutter.” The work of director Alison Dyer, it’s an homage to “The Graduate,” with Lonely Trees going for a dip at a rented house in Palm Springs. Well done all around.

Bio
Former Monsters Are Waiting singer (Annalee Fery) and former Campfire Girls singer (Christian Stone) have long dreamed of a collaborative musical project that would feature both of their voices and melodies. Lonely Trees is the result of that effort. With the melodic foundation of musical wunderkinds George Linev and Max Braverman, and the percussive mastery of Amy Wood, the Lonely Trees dancey yet moody approach to song-crafting is a breath of fresh air in the Los Angeles music scene.
