"Meet Lil JSean and Aesja, Two Inspiring Young Artists"

Lil J Sean & Aesja are brother and sister, best friends, and amazingly talented artists. We sat down with them and asked about their music, inspirations, and work ethic. The pair have opened up for big acts like Waka Flocka and Riff Raff.

"5 HOUSTON UNDERGROUND ARTISTS WHO ARE EXTREMELY UNDERRATED [Local]"

Running a non-profit organization, touring, and putting in sessions in the recording studio are a nice piece of cake for this 20 year old rapper. With his sister by his side, J$ean has opened up for many artists including Riff Raff and Waka Flocka Flame. - Tobechi

"Lil' J Sean & Aesja"

Often, brothers and sisters will get into nasty heated arguments. Lil' J Sean and Aesja are siblings who have put the fighting aside and come together through the power of music. KHOU (See video at above link) - KHOU 11

"Road To Bonnaroo"

Most young musical artists dream of performing in front of thousands of people, but few get that opportunity.
This summer, however, a brother and sister from The Woodlands may just get the chance to make that dream a reality — with a little help from their friends and social media.
J. Sean — also known as Lil JSean — and Aesja Essix have the opportunity to take their musical careers to the next level, since they were selected to compete for a spot as an opening act at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee, in June.
“When I got the email I freaked out,” Aesja said. “I was in class.”
J. Sean, who graduated from College Park High School in 2012, is a rapper. Aesja, currently a senior at College Park, is a singer. They’ve both written and produced their own EPs that are available on iTunes and opened for such notable hip-hop artists as Wocka Flocka, Riff Raff and T-Mills.
J. Sean even used his rapping and video production skills to rep the College Park boys basketball team during its run to the regional semifinals in 2012. The video, #CPNation, weaves J. Sean’s music and rap against the backdrop of basketball fanfare and fervor — including clips from the court. The video is on YouTube at http://bit.ly/1NmHzyj.
Now, the siblings are reaching out to their friends, followers and community to help them get the Bonnaroo gig.
Both J. Sean and Aesja need to garner the attention of judges to make it into a bracket of 64 performers. Fans will vote for their favorites in five rounds of head-to-head competition from March 19 to April 2. The last two artists standing will snag the spots at Bonnaroo.
Since they are entering as separate acts, the brother and sister are each other’s competition, but they could potentially end up if they don’t have to face off. They say they will support each other and perform collaboratively no matter what happens.
Right now, J. and Aesja are trying to get Bonnaroo’s attention by having people tweet #getAESJAandLILJSEANtoBONNAROO.
Aesja has been spreading the word during morning announcements at College Park, asking for her classmates’ support, and J. is planning to visit different schools in the area.
“We’re just trying to show we have a solid fan base,” J. said.
As of Thursday evening, the hashtag had been tweeted more than 850 times, which accounted for nearly 37 percent of all of Bonnaroo’s mentions on Twitter in the preceding week.
The siblings are hoping this will propel them into bigger things in the music industry.

"Siblings rock social media in long-shot attempt to perform at Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival"

Most young musical artists dream of performing on stage in front of thousands of people, but few get that opportunity.

This summer, however, a brother and sister from The Woodlands may just get the chance to make that dream a reality — with a little help from their friends and social media.

J. — also known as Lil JSean — and Aesja Essix have the opportunity to take their musical careers to the next level, since they were selected to compete for a spot as an opening act at Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee this June.

“When I got the email I freaked out,” Aesja said. “I was in class.”

J. Sean, who graduated from The Woodlands College Park High School in 2012, is a rap artist and Aesja, who is currently a senior at College Park, is a singer. They’ve both written and produced their own EPs that are available on itunes and opened for such notable hip hop names as Wocka Flocka, Riff Raff and T-Mills.

J. Sean even used his rapping and video production skills to rep the College Park boys’ basketball team during their undefeated season in 2012. The video, entitled CP Nation, weaves J. Sean’s music and rap against the backdrop of basketball fanfare and fervor — including clips from the game-play court. The video can be seen on YouTube at http://goo.gl/munXdH.

Now, the siblings are reaching out to their followers, friends and the entire community to help them get the Bonnaroo gig.

While both J. Sean and Aesja were selected to be in the running, they still need to get the attention of the judges to make it to the top 64 performers. Of those 64 selected, the 32 that get the most votes from the public between March 19 and 21 will proceed to round two. From there, the chosen few will compete head to head for three more rounds, relying on public voting along the way, before making it to the final round, which will decide who gets the spot.

Since they are entering separately, technically, the brother and sister are each other’s competition, but they say they will support each other and perform collaboratively no matter what happens.

Right now, J. and Aesja are trying to get Bonnaroo’s attention by getting people to tweet #getAESJAandLILJSEANtoBONNAROO.

To rally support, Aesja has been spreading the word during morning announcements at College Park, asking for her classmates’ support, and J. is planning to visit different schools in the area.

“We’re just trying to show we have a solid fanbase,” J. said.

The hashtag has already been tweeted over 700 times in a week, as of press time Tuesday, and makes about 30 percent of all of Bonnaroo’s mentions on Twitter in that week.

The siblings are hoping this will propel them into bigger things in the music industry.

"This Week's Spotlight Artist: LIL JSEAN"

"For this week's Spotlight Artist we highlight rapper Lil JSean
Hailing from the North Houston Area of The Woodlands, Texas, LIL JSean has been one of the hottest artist in the underground scene. Determined and focused to succeed, the young protege made extreme sacrifices like taking a semester off at Sam Houston State University to devote all his energy to music. The sacrifice has paid off big time, landing J$ean opening gigs for artist such as Waka Flocka, Riff Raff, G-Eazy, and many more. There's no doubt this talent is bound to make a visit to the top.
Check him out in this week's Campus Float Spotlight!" - Admin

"Show Review: Lunaface presents Lil Debbie"

"J Sean is a fresh face to the scene, but the kids got charisma. Using little to no gimmicks the young MC actually surprised many when performed his own version of Tupac’s “I Get Around”. Showing he is much more in touch with the music that came before him and the peers in his age bracket. J Sean ended his set with a tribute to his brother who he recently lost. Calling on the assistance of his little sister Asia the two siblings poured their heart into the evening most touching moment. There’s a real genuine quality to J Sean’s music and approach to business. I personally believe this kid has shot of building a big fan base as long as he continues to surround himself with the positivity he exudes.
