Bio
Forming in May of 2008, as just a bunch of 15 year old kids, Life Before Last came into the Hamilton metal scene with an eagerness to prove themselves, put on a great show, and write music that they love. With the latter of those in mind, they booked their first studio dates to go record their 4 song EP, and with that, they found their sound. The songs got around, and before long they start...ed playing lots of big local shows with touring bands such as Arsonists Get All The Girls, Attila, The Agonist, Execute The Sinner, Chelsea Grin, A Plea For Purging, Dead And Divine, Carnifex, Blind Witness, Abandon All Ships, The Last Felony, and many more.
In January of 2010, right after guitarist Mitch Sehl left the band, they started recording their debut full length CD entitled "The Finest of all Hours" at Ice House Studio. The following months were filled with lots of studio days, and auditioning lots of new guitarists, and for that reason, Life Before Last went on somewhat of a hiatus for the majority of 2010, playing only a handful of shows.
Now, in 2011, with the album completed and being prepared for release, and a great new guitarist (Eric Peters) from their deceased brother band solipsism, they have starting to re-build their lost momentum by playing shows with the likes of Upon A Burning Body, Attila, We Came As Romans, Chelsea Grin, Liferuiner, Blind Witness, and Modern Miniatures, to name a few.
Their goal is to keep building that momentum, to get their music to the masses, and hopefully, with the release of their debut album coming up, some attention from labels to help them take it to the next level. Only time will tell what's in store for this young band, but if you like what you hear, show your support, tell your friends, and come out to some shows. For Life Before Last, the finest of all hours has yet to come, but there is no defeat in their eyes, it's their time to rise.
