Bio
Liberal began in 2006 as the brainchild of songwriting brothers, Azael(lead vocals), Edgar(lead guitar, backup vocals), and Uriel Zamora (drums/percussion), who began collaborating after the breakup of their respective bands. The trio recorded their demo and have since added bassist and rhythm guitarist so that they can perform their music live.
Collectively, the band members are originally from Mexico, but have since found their way to the US. This clashing of cultures found them yearning for a better kind of rock..one that combined their heavily developed spanish roots with the appeal, grittiness, and lustre of American Rock.
Over the past few months, Liberal has been playing incessantly and is quickly building a dedicated following. Their music and flashy stage presence is creating a buzz around the local bar scene for both English and Spanish speakers alike. They were promoted on Digital 104.1 and featured on Ksym's groundbreaking music show Jarabe de Yoyotli. Liberal has opened for major Latin acts, such as Molotov and Kinky. Most recently, Liberal was selected as one of the top 6 bands nationwide by SiTv, Winner of Battletothebeach.com, finalist of Burger King Tu Ciudad Tu Musica.
Liberal plans to release their self-titled EP, which features the single "Vientos" within the next few months. Stay tuned, there's more to come....
