Lhabya

We intend to pass a message of hope and of how to overcome everything that affects the life of the common human being. We don’t stand for, or support any political and religious idea, as music is our party and religion. We just want to play and pass our message to whoever is willing to listen.
We were born as Lhabia during 2008, playing covers of bands that influenced us in one way or another. Always with the purpose to play live as much as possible, creating our own songs wasn’t an immediate goal to be carried out within the near future. We performed about 50 shows in several places during the summer of 2008/09. In the year of 2009, we performed for the “last time” as by then we had agreed to get into the studio and write our own songs. We had already absorbed everything that the shows with covers had to offer, by this we mean stage experience and influences for our future tracks. After two years of composition and preparation for the opening show, the day finally came to prove that not only we had not disappeared, but also that we had been reborn from Lhabia´s ashes, this time with our own songs and as LHABYA. The show took place in the only available performance space in our home town and gladly, we exceeded all of our expectations, having sold out the place with over 500 tickets sold and being actually forced to close the doors with some people not being able to attend the show. During that same time and with a single concert in our curriculum, the opportunity that everybody dreams about came: to record an album. Hugo Ferreira, vocalist of the multi-platinum band TANTRIC, heard our sound and challenged us towards this huge step. All the rest is history, which is being written as time goes by and of which we would like your space to be a part of.
