Highlight: "After the hard work we did with the first video from our new single, 'You Make Me Nervous', we thought it was unfair to leave this great B-side as it is," Late Guest at the Party vocalist Davide Diglio tells Spinner. "So we came up with this one. We wanted to tease a bit, showing the engine behind Late Guest at the Party's hull, but without exposing too much. You can see how we play, without spoiling the surprise to see us live on a stage. I guess that's an experience someone has to do more rudely, in general. Actually the stage is a key element in our lives. That's why we're really excited for these two shows we'll play in New York soon. We can't wait to see what's going to happen. It's the first time we play in the U.S. so we're very curious to see the reactions of the audience to our performances and to our new sound as well." - AOL Spinner
Italy's Late Guest at the Party bring us their latest single, “Electric Bongos", a tune about striving and facing obstacles along the path to achievement.
Italy’s Late Guest at the Party have been around since 2002 developing their blend of Britpop-esque rave beats. In 2007, they attracted the attention of the BBC’s Steve Lamacq who played their tune “We Were Young” on Radio BBC One and praised their demo as one of the year’s best. Fast forward to 2009 and their debut “Come Back Bobby Peru” got buzz notice again from the BBC. Now the group has descended on New York to record their follow-up album with Chuck Brody (Peter Bjorn and John, Shy Child, Bear Hands, Ra Ra Riot, Wu Tang Clan). The first single, “You Make Me Nervous”, dropped in August and today we have the pleasure of presenting the video for their latest single “Electric Bongos”, which all about striving and facing obstacles along the path to achievement. Vocalist Davide Diglio says, “this kind of struggle is somehow ironic, I guess, so we tried to transpose this kind of cruel irony in the video, exaggerating it. There we got grotesque invisible forces stopping the characters from killing each other and the result is a hilarious film noir.” - PopMatters
Italy’s Late Guest at the Party creates the musical backdrop and catchy melodies that any good pop band should have, but they’ve also got the bite of a rock band. “You Make Me Nervous” finds a balance between friendly and uncordial. This unique combination gives the band an edge that makes Filter call them “on the heels of being the next big thing.”

Interview is eagerly anticipating the release of Italian dance group Late Guest at the Party's second album. You should be, too, if you're into Brit-pop-influenced electro (and who isn't?). Think Blur meets CSS, or perhaps Death From Above 1979 via LCD Soundsystem—the latter of whom the band actually collaborated with on this album.
Although they've been around since 2002, Late Guest at the Party wasn't signed until after BBC Radio One touted their song "We Were Young" as the best demo of 2007. This album is the band's first to be recorded in the US (2009's Come Back Bobby Peru was released on Italian indie label 42 Records) and is produced by Chuck Brody, whose past credits include Peter Bjorn and John and the Wu-Tang Clan.
We're happy to share an exclusive track, "You Make Me," remixed by DJ Teenwolf (Kevin Ross, formerly of the "dastardly Brooklyn rap group" Ninjasonik). - Interview Magazine

In 2011 LGATP relocated to NYC to record a new album produced by Chuck Brody (Peter Bjorn and John, Shy Child, Bear Hands, Ra Ra Riot, Wu Tang Clan) and featuring collaborations with artists such as Kenan Bell, Hesta Prynn, Randy Shrager(Scissor Sisters) and Slam Donahue. The lead single, You Make Me Nervous, was released digitally on August 16 by NYC's Reynold's Records as a taste in anticipation of the new forthcoming record.
Combining elements from different genres since they started out in 2002, eclectic Italian group Late Guest at the Party have always been able to cross several geographical and musical borders with their unique sound made of well-read electro lashes, engaging beats and catchy anthems, all permeated by a peculiar r'n'r DNA and 90's brit-pop / rave hints. Lauded for years by press and the web as next big thing and pioneers for every forthcoming musical wave, they were signed for the first time in late 2007 after music guru Steve Lamacq broadcasted their song We Were Young on Radio BBC One and suggested their demo as one of the best of that year.
They're first album Come Back Bobby Peru was released in 2009 by 42 Records, one of the best-known Italian indie labels. It was produced by Giacomo Fiorenza (Italian indie's grey man since the dawn of time) and mastered by Alan Douches (LCD Soundystem, Liars, Converge, Sufjan Stevens, just to name a few). The album received enthusiastic reviews and quite a lot of a buzz, with articles appearing in Rolling Stone and worldwide airplay for the single from the BBC to smaller indie radio stations in the New York area. LGATP promoted the album by hitting the road for almost two years playing shows everywhere from the biggest venues in Italy to smallest bars with their energetic and absorbing sound. During this time, the band had tracks featured on various compilations distributed by the many prominent Italian blogs and press, a series of remixes and a digital EP in late 2010 with b-sides and demos from the upcoming release.
