"Allie Jorgen & Le Reverie"

(LIVE FROM WEST HOLLYWOOD) –Dynamic vocalist Allie Jorgen and L.A. Goth-Rock group Le Reverie will be performing in concert at the Key Club, 9039 Sunset Blvd. in West Hollywood on the famed Sunset Strip, Friday, October 7th at 8:30 PM. For tickets call 818-822-2207. LeReverie's debut EP Truth & Lies was helmed by famed producer Ron Nevison (Led Zeppelin, The Who, Thin Lizzy, others) and yielded the hit single "Hold Me Down," winner of "Breakout Single of the Year" at the 2010 Los Angeles Music Awards. In addition to receiving great reviews for Truth & Lies, Le Reverie were recently selected "Emerging Artist of the Week" by Sonic Bids, the go-to site for gigging musicians. LeReverie’s darkly exotic songs and thought-provoking lyrics are the perfect foil for the richly unique vocal style of frontperson Jorgen.
LeReverie – who call the San Fernando Valley home - recently teamed with rock icons Missing Persons in concert, also at the aformentioned Key Club. "Front-woman Jorgen's mezzo-soprano vocals are well-suited for over the top rock and roll, and are delivered with an intensity that never wanes," wrote MUSIC CONNECTION magazine in a review of their Key Club concert. "There seemed to be no lack of confidence holding these players back and their fan base was engaged throughout the show. Each player definitely brings the goods.”
Media reviews for LeReverie and Truth & Lies have been favorable. "Jorgen's rocket-fueled vocals make Truth & Lies a listen to get lost in," exclaims ROCKWIRED RADIO Host, Brian Lush. "A slice of female-fronted European music...Le Reverie are like a girl-fronted Dream Theater - they are impressive. Truth is, these guys (and gal) are going to be huge," raves METALLIVILLE. "Lead singer and songwriter Allie Jorgen is a mezzo-soprano like other great rock singers Pat Benatar, Ann Wilson, and Amy Lee...a strong EP," writes ALL ACCESS MAGAZINE. “ “Le Reverie front-woman Allie Jorgen dishes out some strong and highly versatile vocals and melody lines. The band is very tight and musicianship top-notch. The instrumentation is huge and wide open. If you like synth and piano oriented rock w/ some awesome string sections, then you’ll like this,” writes CASHBOX MAGAZINE. “‘Hold Me Down’ by up-and-coming Los Angeles-based Gothic Rock group, LeReverie, shakes the newly budded leaves from late-spring trees with a hard-hitting combination of sentimentally poignant lyrics, spiritually enthralling chord progressions and a never-tiring sense of indie enthusiasm,” raves WOMEN’S RADIO.
President of International Management Company, Concerthouse Music, Ross Tonkin, says, "With well-crafted songs, strong music and aggressive vocals, Le Reverie is a band that will shake up the world! Watch out for this one! Producer Ron Nevison says,
"Le Reverie is an amazing assortment of musicians and songwriters fronted by Allie Jorgen who are destined to be on top."
Come on out to the Key Club on October 7 and see what the buzz on Allie Jorgen and LeReverie is all about! www.lereverie.com.

"An Interview with Allie Jorgen - Lead Vocalist of Californian Rockers, Le Reverie by Glenn Milligan & Dave Attrill in January 2011"

How long have you guys been together and what have been the highlights as a band unit so far?

Allie: The band has been together for about 1 year. We had the idea of putting together a Gothic Rock band and began planning in January 2010. There have been so many great things that have happened this year. We recorded our 3 song EP and were able to record with famed Producer Ron Nevison, who has worked with Led Zeppelin, The Who, Ozzy Osbourne and Heart, just to name a few. We just won the Award for "Breakout Single of the Year" from the Los Angeles Music Awards, for our single "Hold Me Down" and were presented the Award on the Red Carpet at the Paramount Pictures Studios Lot in Hollywood, California. We have had the opportunity to hear so much great new music and make so many new friends from our MySpace page.

Where did the name come from and what made you choose it?

Allie: Le Reverie means "The Dream" in French and English and it was a good name for the band because everyone has some kind of dream. Everyone is unique and each person has something special to offer, and everyone should have the freedom to follow their dream no matter what.

How did the band come about originally and how did your musical choices come to be in what you played with regard to musical instruments?

Allie: I was in a club watching a cover band and I saw this amazing piano player also playing his original songs. I thought he had the most unusual style. His melodies and chord progressions were very haunting and I just knew that my vocals, lyrics and melodies would fit his style perfectly. So I talked with him after the show, and we decided to start a Gothic Rock Band. The musical choices just sort of happened. "O" is an incredible piano player, so we knew that the music would be piano based. But we also wanted really heavy guitars and heavy drums. All of our different musical influences created our sound.

Did you already know any of the band mates from the scene before forming the group - what other bands were you all in previously?

Allie: When I first met "O" and we first talked about starting a Gothic Rock Band, it turned out that we both new the same LA Gothic Rock Drummer "Roc" and they both knew the same guitar player and Le Reverie was born.
"O", Roc and I had been working in Los Angeles doing some live shows and recording sessions for Rock, Alternative Rock and Blues Rock Bands.

Your 80's style is a refreshing departure from the sound we're used to hearing from girl-fronted metal acts nowadays. Is it the style you'd always intended to create right from the beginning or how did you develop your sound and style to what it is today?

Allie: Thank you. I guess we didn’t consciously strive for a 80’s style sound, I think it is the culmination of all of our many different musical influences and they all come together to create one unique sound. I have been told that my vocal style is different from the Female Vocals of the European Heavy Gothic/Symphonic Rock Bands. I love the high operatic vocal style of Sharon den Adel from Within Temptation and so many of the other Heavy Gothic/Symphonic Rock Female Singers but my vocals are definitely more on the raspy side.
In the writing style, I write about everyday situations that we all go through. We all have good days and bad days, and everything is not always "sugar coated". When we first decided to start a Gothic Rock Band there were many people that told us that was not a good idea, that we should try a different style of music. But we looked at each other and said, let’s do this anyway, and that is how the song "Hold Me Down" was written. The song is about following your ideas and dreams and not letting anyone tell you different or "Hold You Down". The interesting thing about songwriting is you never know where it will come from.
The title track to our EP Truth & Lies was written completely on Drums. The Drummer, Roc will hear an entire song in his head, Intro, Verse, Chorus, Bridge and sometimes even the Vocal Breakdown section. He will record all of the Drum tracks on what we call the "Kitchen" which is a Portable Recorder set up in his kitchen along with all his drums and all the equipment. Then the Keyboard Player and Guitar Player will come in and add all the chords and solos. They will work with the track and get an arrangement they are happy with, then they will burn me a CD and I will disappear for a few days, and come back with lyrics, vocals and a melody.

What are your main influences and how have you incorporated their styles, sound and vibe into your band?

Allie: The great thing about songwriting and creating music with four individuals is that everyone brings their own influences to the table. I really like the symphonic rock of Within Temptation, the heavy guitars of System of a Down and Linkin Park and the songwriting of Evanescence. The keyboard player likes Muse and has many European band influences. The guitar player has many symphonic rock influences and the drummer also a big fan of System of a Down throws Led Zeppelin and Dream Theater into the mix. All of the influences combined create one unique sound which is Le Reverie.

Apart from Metalliville, which other magazines have you impressed just as much with your debut EP and what were your thoughts to their remarks and comments?

Allie: We are very fortunate to have a great publicist on our team, and he has been able to really get our music out there. Debra Stocker from All Access Magazine said:
"Truth & Lies is a three song sampler recorded by the band LE REVERIE and Allie Jorgen singer/songwriter fronts the band with her raspy sounding voice; a little different than one would expect to hear in a Hard-Rock/ Goth band. So as interesting as this was, a Google search lead me to want to know more about Allie Jorgen and the band LE REVERIE".

Brian from Rockwired Magazine said:
"Le Reverie (fronted by singer ALLIE JORGEN) brings tremendous musicality and songcraft to the table. JORGEN’s rocket fuled vocals make TRUTH AND LIES a listen to get lost in". In the interview for Muen Rock and Metal Magazine, they really liked the recording quality of the EP and they were curious about the recording process and how it was to work with Famed Producer Ron Nevison. We were really excited that the 3 song EP received such a great response and we look forward to the release of the full length CD and working with Ron Nevison again.

Would you say there is a lot of anticipation for your debut full length album and what can we expect from it and why? What songs in particular are you pleased with so far and for what reasons and what influenced them?

Allie: We are very excited about the new songs and the release of the full length CD. We have been told that 3 songs are not quite enough for the listener, they have always asked us for more, so we are looking forward to releasing 10 songs. Our favorite new song is currently our new song "Twisted". Roc, our drummer created a really heavy, dark drumbeat and inspired "O", our piano player to come up with these amazing chord progressions, and the lyrics are inspired by the sometimes dark side of relationships. We are excited because there are a couple of Dark, Gothic Films in production right now and we have submitted "Twisted" to possibly be used in one of the films.

There are a lot of other great metal acts emerging from your country lately. How would you describe the scene in your area and what's it like to get noticed in your state of the USA, since so many are trying so hard to get noticed each and every night?

Allie: I agree, there are so many great bands out there. We have had the opportunity to see and hear so many of the great bands that have sent their music to our MySpace page, and we thank everyone for sharing their music with us. In addition to focusing on the music, Le Reverie has decided to focus heavily on the visual aspect of our music. Our music creates so many visual images and we embrace all the Gothic Imagery in our clothes and on stage.

Whereabouts in the world would you like to play and why? What offers have you had so far for Europe and are there any UK touring plans in the distant or near future?

Allie: We have been receiving a lot of internet and radio airplay in Europe, South America and Canada and would love to play in all of these places. We have many European friends and fans that have come to us on our MySpace Page, and we have also started working with a Promotion Company in the UK who works with some of the huge European festivals. We are hoping to have Le Reverie play on one of their festivals this summer. The top of our wish list is to play the Download Festival 2011 in Donington Park, Castle Donington, United Kingdom with great bands like System of a Down and Linkin Park in June.

What kind of attention do you currently attract when performing as a support act and what gigs have been a highlight and why?

Allie: We have been compared to French Gothic Vampires because of our clothes and the Gothic Imagery we like to create on stage with Candelabras, etc.
We will be performing on March 3rd at the Key Club in Los Angeles on the Sunset Strip, opening for Rock Icons, Missing Persons. This will be a great show because it is also being filmed for our first music video, which we will begin shooting over the next few weeks and will include theatrical clips and live footage from the March 3rd show.

What do you think is the most expensive thing about touring as a new upcoming band, especially in these tough economic times and why?

Allie: Just about everything. Travel expenses can be expensive, since we are a large band, we have 6 members. The cost of the venue and the promotion for the show, can also cost a bit. You need to offset the costs by selling merchandise and being cost effective.

Any message for the people who've shown you their support so far?

Allie: We would really like to thank everyone who has shared their music with us on our MySpace page, we have made so many great new friends. The message Le Reverie would like to send out is the message we mentioned earlier that everyone is unique and each person has something special to offer, and everyone should have the freedom to follow their dream no matter what. We also want to thank everyone who has supported Le Reverie and stood by us. We encourage everyone to visit us at www.lereverie.com or myspace.com/lereverie and let us know what you are thinking. We would like to wish everyone a great and rockin’ 2011.

Thanks and take care.

Allie: Thank you for including Le Reverie in Metalliville.com. You guys really have a great Rock and Metal Webzine.

"LeReverie Independent Release - Genre= Goth Prog Rock Metal Title=Truth & Lies"

Hey everybody out there in musica land... I hope all is well and that U are having a banner 2011. As I alwayz start, here I sit again listening to a really neat prog-rock metal band in the style of ala Dream Theater and as far reaching as the challenging music of veteran rockerz Marillion. This music is euro-metal worth checkin’ out. Le Reverie front-woman Allie Jorgen dishes out some strong and highly versatile vocalz and melody lines. The band is very tight and musicianship top-notch. The instrumentation is huge and wide open. If U like synth and piano oriented rock w/ some awesome string sections, then I know you’ll like this...
I have to say that the percussions and electric guitarz are right on the money. And Yes, U do have mucho high-energy cuttin' edge prog-guitar playing. Some of the guitar work reminds me of early Dokken and QueensRyche. I’m definitely groove’n to the smartly played and highly-drivin’ rhythm sections w/ the exceedingly technical and sharply executed lead lines. Theze git-box slingerz know how to play for the song too. And once again the instrumentation in all its aural elements are beautifully woven together with Allie's wonderful and radio friendly singing. So yeah! I highly recommend U checking out their NEW Release. Best Song: Ghost of You

"Le Reverie Live At The Key Club in Los Angeles On The Sunset Strip"

Material: Fronted by female rocker Allie Jorgen, Le Reverie create musical dreamscapes by combining a classic metal sound with dark, rich Gothic overtones. The band write their music in an ensemble fashion around a kitchen table. While an unusual approach for this genre, it is likely this truly collaborative effort is what creates this band’s unique, signature sound. Trance-inducing chord combinations embellished with powerful metal passages and lyrics that conjure up secret yearnings and fears make these songs memorable. The standout composition, the singular rock ballad “Ghost of You,” is dramatic and intriguing as it drips with haunting musical allusions to classic cabaret ballades from the Kurt Weil Period.

Musicianship: Frontwoman Jorgen’s mezzo-soprano vocals are well suited for over-the-top rock & roll, and are delivered with an intensity that never wanes. Mallow’s lightning fast fretwork perfectly enunciates each note and produces an unusually clean and sweet guitar style, not often associated with the metal genre. But here it works well and adds a haunting quality to those already ethereal songs. Reminiscent of early John Bonham, drummer Boyum adds an unpredictable and almost unsettling element to the band’s otherwise highly synchronized compositions. Bass player Pagliarulo performs a classic metal bottom style and offers the perfect counter-point to Mallow’s staccato guitar solos. Ginzburg’s ephemeral and trance-influenced keyboards add the right amount of texture and accent to each song.

Performance: There seemed to be no lack of confidence holding these players back and their fan base was engaged throughout the show.

Summary: Like a poem by Edgar Allen Poe, this band’s lyrical obsession with ghosts darkness and dreams will more than satisfy the Goth-inclined. Each Player definitely brings the goods...

Le Reverie are an American goth rock band who have just released their first EP. Musically, they remind you of Evanescence… Three tracks of well played, well sung, well produced hard rock.

"LeReverie - 9.5 out of 10 Rating for Truth & Lies From MetalliVille- The UK's Finest Rock and Metal Webzine!!"

Another slice of female-fronted European music comes my way courtesy of American outfit Le Reverie as we've not had enough of them already this past twelve months.

LR are like a girl-fronted Dream Theater for tracks 1 and 2 albeit with a verse-chorus structure and hooks while the third takes it in a more Tyketto/Journey oriented direction and echoes of Spanish AOR faves Nexx instantly sound on the wood. Frontwoman, Allie Jorgen delivers a highly versatile range though it seems mostly suited to subtle melodies from the instrument lines behind it and all elements are beautifully paralleled here.

Three tracks is way too little to taste from this band -they are impressive first time… well song out and their debut album looks to be loaded with more fireworks it can fit. Truth is, these guys ( and gal )are going to be huge two years from now… listen to this bunch and you know I ain’t Lying.

"LE REVERIE Allie Jorgen Interview"

MUEN: Thanks for talking with us about the band Allie.
Thank you for including Le Reverie in your magazine.
MUEN: You’re welcome. How did the band come together and when did you form Le Reverie?
That’s a very interesting story. I was in a club watching a cover band and I saw this amazing piano player who was also playing his original songs. I thought he had the most unusual style. His melodies and chord progressions were very haunting and I just knew that my vocals, lyrics and melodies would fit his style perfectly. So I talked with him after the show, and we decided to start a gothic rock band. It turned out that we both knew the same L.A. Goth rock drummer, Roc and the same guitar player, and Le Reverie was born.
MUEN: What does each member contribute to make the great gothic rock sound that you have?
The great thing about songwriting and creating music with four individuals is that everyone brings their own influences to the table. I love the songwriting of Muse, the heavy guitars of Linkin Park, the symphonic rock of Within Temptation and the songwriting of Evanescence, the keyboard player likes Muse and has many European band influences. The guitar player has many symphonic rock influences and the drummer also a big fan of Muse and Linkin Park, also throws a little Led Zeppelin into the mix.
MUEN: Really unique name for a band and a great meaning of the words. For those that don’t know what does it mean and why was it chosen for the band?
Le Reverie means “The Dream” in English and French. We chose “The Dream” for the name because everyone has a dream and are searching for their own dream. People are unique and everyone has something special to offer and we believe that everyone should follow their dream no matter what, even if people tell you not to. When we decided to form a gothic rock band there were people that told us that was not a good idea, that it would be a waste of time. We looked at each other and said; “You know what? We are going to go for it anyway!” That is how the song “Hold Me Down” was born.
MUEN: How is the music written for the band?
This is also a very interesting question. The songs are actually written in many different ways. For example, the title song on the EP “Truth & Lies” was written by the drummer, Roc. He hears a complete song in his head from beginning to end. He hears the intro, verses, choruses and breakdown sections. He will record the entire song drum track on what we call the “Kitchen” which is a portable recorder set up in his kitchen along with all his drums and all the equipment. Then the keyboard player and Guitar player will come in and add the chords and changes and solos to the song. They edit and make a version they are happy with and then they cut a CD of music for me. I take the CD and disappear for a few days and come back with vocals, lyrics and a melody.
MUEN: You worked with a great producer Ron Nevison. What do you think he brought out of the band for your EP that another producer could not do?
We were extremely fortunate to be able to work with Ron Nevison. He is amazing, he has worked with so many people, and so many different personalities, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Heart, Ozzy Osbourne just to name a few. He has learned in working with all these people, how to bring the best out in everyone. He was able to get really great performances out of all of us. I remember the drummer saying that he could not believe some of the great things that were recorded. For me personally he was able to pull out great vocals. It is interesting because when you are working, like me in the vocal booth, you are just concentrating and you have no idea how anything sounds. It is truly a great experience when you go back into the studio for playback, and you hear everything that you just did and you are thinking “Wow, did I do that?” Ron is really laid back and easy to work with and makes you do your very best.
The thing about some other producers is that they have one formula and one sound that they record all their artists with, so your work can come out sounding like every other artist they have worked with. But with Ron, he is able to get into your music, find out exactly what you are trying to do and say and he has the ability to keep each Band and Artist unique while remaining true to their vision, you just have to look at everyone he has worked with.
MUEN: How is your live show different from your recorded music and what do you bring visually to enhance your music?
The interesting thing about our music is that it creates visual pictures. We are visually like French Gothic Vampires. We are very into the visual with candelabras, ivy and a gothic vibe, like Halloween all year long.
MUEN: Where have you played live and do you have plans to tour to gather new fans?
We have been so busy writing and recording that we have not done any live shows yet, but we are planning live shows. We will be performing live on October 14th on the Actor’s Entertainment Network TV Show, which will air live on television and on the internet, 10 am -11am PST. You can view and, if you want, chat during the show at: www.ActorsEntertainment.com/actorse. We are also planning a huge EP Release Party, to be held at the Key Club in Los Angeles, or Johnny Depp’s Club, The Viper Room, also in Los Angeles in December or January. We have not solidified that date yet. Stay tuned to our website for the actual date of the EP Release Party.
MUEN: Your single “Hold Me Down” has been nominated as “Breakout Single of the Year” by the L.A. Music Awards. How do you feel about this honor and what would it mean to you to win?
We are very honored to have the first song off of our EP “Truth & Lies” to be nominated for “Breakout Single of the Year” by the L.A. Music Awards. As I mentioned earlier this song is special because it is a song written to all the people who told us not to start this band, so it was very exciting to us when we received the phone call after we sent in the demo, telling us that we were nominated.
MUEN: Where can fans get your EP?
The EP “Truth & Lies” is available on our website and CD Baby. It is coming soon to Amazon and iTunes. We are also giving away a free hard copy of the EP with all the artwork to the first 100 people who send us an email at lereverie@lereverie.com and say “I Read the MUEN Article on Le Reverie and I Want The Free Truth & Lies EP.”
MUEN: Great way to reward fans that are interested after reading this. Now that you have your EP out have you started working on a full CD?
We actually have been writing and getting a bunch of songs together so we can release a ten song CD. We are almost ready.
MUEN: Do you plan to use the same great producer or change things up and use various producers with a new recording?
We will definitely work with Ron Nevison and he will be in charge, but there may be a few surprises.
MUEN: What else do you have planned for the rest of 2010 and also for 2011?
We have some interesting things on the horizon; the most exciting is our EP Release Party. We will be filming our first video and a lot of fun things will be happening that night. We are also looking at a couple of festivals at the end of this year and beginning of next year. Everything will be posted on our website under our “Shows” tab. We are looking forward to an exciting 2011.
MUEN: Is there anything that I haven’t asked that you think our readers should know about Le Reverie?
We were once asked what our music means to people. Our music is powerful and about everyday things we all go through. It is not sugarcoated. We would like to offer a strong positive message. Like the song “Hold Me Down”, we believe that you should be able to follow your dreams and goals no matter what and you shouldn’t let anyone tell you different or hold you down.
MUEN: Thanks again for talking to us about the band. Look forward to hearing more from you.
Thanks for talking to Le Reverie. Everyone stay tuned to our website http://www.lereverie.com/ for all the exciting things coming up and send us a message at lereverie@lereverie.com or myspace.com/lereverie. We would like to talk with you.

"LeReverie Wins “Breakout Single Of the Year” At 2010 (20th Annual) Los Angeles Music Awards"

LeReverie's Debut EP Truth & Lies has arrived from the new up and coming female-fronted Gothic Rock Band. LeReverie– which means “The Dream” - are based in the San Fernando Valley (Encino) and count among their influences bands as diverse, but not limited to, Muse, Linkin Park, Within Temptation and Evanescence. Their sound has been described as "Powerful Gothic Rock with Haunting Female Vocals" and "Hard-hitting with Poignant Lyrics and Enthralling Chord Progressions." The EP was recorded at East West Studios in Hollywood, California with Famed Producer Ron Nevison at the controls. Nevison, who has worked with Led Zeppelin, The Who , Ozzy Osbourne and Heart among many others, was able to bring his magic to LeReverie. The result is this powerful 3-song EP.
“We think he has a certain sound that contributes to our style, said Jorgen when asked why the band decided to pursue working with the renowned producer. “When we took (the single “Truth And Lies”) to him, it was raw. With his production wizardry, he heard so many things going on. He just took it and made it this amazing thing. As we're writing and showing him different things, we're seeing that he sees things in our songs. He sees the finished product that we don't see. When we go to record the full album, the ten songs, we're pretty sure we'll record with him.”
LeReverie just won “Showcase Single of the Year” for the Nevison-produced song “Hold Me Down” at the 2010 (20th Annual) Los Angeles Music Awards. The band will receive their Plaque and walk the Red Carpet with other winners and celebrities from the world of both music and film (including Styx’s Tommy Shaw; famed producer Eddie Kramer; actress Sally Kirkland; and others) at the LA Music Awards’ Main Event, taking place November 18 at the Paramount theater on the storied Paramount Lot in Hollywood.
When asked to describe their music, LeReverie Singer Songwriter/Front person Allie Jorgen said, "It's powerful and able to reach people on an emotional level. It is about everyday situations that we all go through and not sugar-coated." When asked how LeReverie formed, Jorgen said, “I was at a club watching a cover band. There was a piano player playing some of his own originals and they were so unusual. His melodies were so unusual and different. I just knew that my lyrics and vocals would fit his style perfectly because my own style is very unusual. We got together and I asked him about starting a Gothic rock band. He thought it was a great idea. Turns out we both knew this LA drummer Roc and the same guitar player, so the band was formed. It worked out great.” Brian Lush from Rockwired Magazine and Rockwired.com says: "LeReverie (fronted by singer ALLIE JORGEN) brings tremendous musicality and songcraft to the table, the band's musical scope and JORGEN's rocket fueled vocals make TRUTH AND LIES a listen to get lost in".
Said Dave Strauss, Host of Flat Cat Radio: "Thanks again to LeReverie for being guests and performing live on the show, you guys were AWESOME!!!"
Gary Schwind from the Orange County Music Examiner writes: "Le Reverie: like it was meant to be!"
Hold Me Down is available on the band's website www.lereverie.com and CD Baby and is coming soon to iTunes and Amazon.com. Watch for an announcement about LeReverie’s CD Release Party in the near future. www.lereverie.com.

"ROCKWiRED RADiO PROFiLES PRESENTS: LE REVERiE AND THEiR DEBUT EP 'TRUTH AND LIES"

SEPTEMBER 13, 2010 - There is a lyric from a song in THE SOUND OF MUSIC which suggested that the beginning was a very good place to start. This is indeed true of the Los Angeles-based goth-rock band LE REVERIE who have just released their three-song debut EP 'TRUTH AND LIES' with a little help from legendary rock producer RON NEVISON (THE WHO, HEART, LED ZEPPELIN and KISS). While production cred from a heavy-hitter is always going to look great on a band's press kit, one mustn't overlook the fact that LE REVERIE (fronted by singer ALLIE JORGEN) brings tremendous musicality and songcraft to the table. The band's musical scope and JORGEN's rocket fueled vocals make TRUTH AND LIES a listen to get lost in.

"Le Reverie: Like it was meant to be"

Le Reverie is a four-piece band from LA. Singer Allie Jorgen discusses the band's name, who she would like to record with, and what she would be doing if she weren't making music.

Your band's name means the dream. Why is that fitting for the band?
It fits everybody. Everyone is trying to reach some goal. We felt that living the dream or trying to live the dream is something everyone strives for.
How did this band come together?

I was at a club watching a cover band. There was a piano player playing some of his own originals and they were so unusual. His melodies were so unusual and different. I just knew that my lyrics and vocals would fit his style perfectly because my own style is very unusual.. We got together and I asked him about starting a Gothic rock band. He thought it was a great idea. Turns out we both knew this LA drummer Roc and the same guitar player, so the band was formed. It worked out great.

What does it mean to you that "Hold Me Down" is nominated for breakout single at the LA Music Awards?

It's our first single and for some reason, we've done a lot of songwriting, it's one of those songs that kind of wrote itself. We kind of write in the kitchen. We set up the drums and all the equipment is here. It just sort of happened. The music was written, the lyrics were written. When we recorded it, it sounded like it was meant to be. Then it got submitted. For us, it's very exciting. Songwriting isn't always the easiest thing, and when you have a song that writes itself, it's exciting.

You are recording with Ron Nevison. What does he bring to the recording process? What does it mean to the band to record with someone like him?
Ron Nevison is amazing. He has worked with everybody: Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Stones, Heart. He's worked with so many personalities and so many artists. He has learned through the years to pull the best out of people. When he comes into the studio and making the drummer the best he can be, and me, pulling out the best vocals he can find. He's just amazing. We all learned a lot from him. It was a great experience.

Do you think his influence will stick with you the next time record?
We think he has a certain sound that contributes to our style. We just finished recording another song with him. It's the title track to our EP, which will be out in a couple weeks. It's called "Truth and Lies." That's probably our best song so far. When we took it to him, it was raw. With his production wizardry, he heard so many things going on. He just took it and made it this amazing thing. As we're writing and showing him different things, we're seeing that he sees things in our songs. He sees the finished product that we don't see. When we go to record the full album, the ten songs, we're pretty sure we'll record with him.

If you could write and perform a song with one artist, who would you choose? Why?
That's a really tough one. How long do I get to think about it. There are so many different artists for different reasons. I love the songwriting of Muse, the energy and guitar work of Linkin Park, the classic style and greatness of Robert Plant and Jimmy Page. How do you choose just one?

If you could only choose one, who would it be?
Since I seem to learn a lot from the classics I guess I would record with Jimmy Page.

What would you be doing if you weren't making music?
That's interesting. I have thought about that. Something I would really like to do is charity work for children. In the past we've done some AIDS work when I used to work with blues bands. My energy would go to charity work. I think I would probably focus on kids. Even when the music is going, especially when the music is going, because you can reach more people that way. There are just so many children out there that need help. I would really like to be able to do that.
