.."the new-wave is here. The magic begins."
"Passengers of the flight were waiting at the door of Le Marylend.Yael instantly freezes the audience, inviting to her airy world. Her voice cut through the crystal, embodies beauty and fragility. You get fixed to the blue of her eyes and you're cradled in warm nostalgia...Thierry joins with his powerful deep and theatrical voice. The Rock finds it's place again. Some faces leave no doubts about the activity of a person. Thierry is one of those. He cannot be but an artist, or a sailor, in search for adventures. Such as Corto Maltese or Ulysses. And again, the sailor was soduced by a marmaid. and the chemistry works. Let us not forget the remarkable mastery of bassist Beril Bertrand. Their sound is air. The influence of The Cure, New Order, Björk and Jean-Michel Jarre is at the discretion of each. The fact is that their style is a mix between some voices opposed, carried by a synthesizer and crossed by ubiquitous electronic sounds.
.." For me, the work will find its fair value lying with the spirit ready to travel. No doubt we should soon find in a late season of American series one of their compositions. In any case, always keep in mind that the best critics, it's yours. Get out! The live show is not dead. " - Les Trois Coups.com (live gigs reviews)
"One of the coolest bands we have heared lately"
"their music might not fit the Tel-Avivian summer, but is indeed pretty. Gentle rock with interesting rythems, and above them relaxed but dominant guitars and keyboards, bass and electronic which altogether complete the floating/melancholic atmosphere that Brener's voice naturally evokes." - Afarkeset Music Blog

Bio
Leather Academy is an indie band that started as an international co-production between American William Byron, Israeli Yael Brener and Frenchman Thierry Dumas (a.k.a Banfile).
Byron and Brener made first contact in 2007 through Craigslist, when he was looking for a drummer. They maintained a long distance correspondence, exchanging demos and ideas, until finally deciding to form Leather Academy. A random Myspace correspondence has lead to a cooperation with Dumas, an eclectic musician and radio host from Limousin, who soon joined the band as a third member, on October 2009.
The band has released a first EP on August 2010, which was partially mixed by acclaimed producer/engineer Mark Plati (Bowie, The Cure, New Order etc). They have a gradually growing fan base and radio airplays worldwide.
After having performed few times in Tel-Aviv and France (including Festival de Sedieres), Brener and Dumas are now situated in France and recording songs for the next album.
Their song Thoroughly was selected to be featured on Delta Airlines' Indie Showcase, as well as a music compilation in Tel-Aviv. Dark Windows was featured on French label FatalObject's compilation. Their song 222 was selected to be featured in the soundtrack of Israeli action film Radical.
