‘MAKE TIME’ Review by Susan Jarvis
Listening to this album, you’re left knowing that the songwriter has lived and breathed everything she’s singing about. And that’s this album’s appeal: every note, every word is authentic, and sung from the heart. LEANNE KING clearly loves the genre and makes it her own, with her pure, sweet country voice. Her songs connect in a profound way - few listeners won’t have shed a tear by the end of the album. The album has an underlying theme of taking control of your life and realizing what’s important, and two of the standout songs - Nearly Said No and Make Time both explore this concept, as do Learning as You Go and I Was You. In particular, the love of a parent for a child comes through on Put Your Hand in Mine, Nearly Said No and the delightful Little Cowboy. LeAnne has the ability to touch others with her music, and make them feel and think - which for a songwriter is the ultimate success.
