"Somehow theyʼve managed to capture that early pop sound, a sound that so many in the modern music scene have tried to revive. They captured the sound and they pushed it further, a feat in any genre." - Dingus
"I dig the sound that Layne Montgomery creates, and he seems to be having a lot of fun, even when heʼs singing about heartbreak." - Music Defined
"Described in 5 words: Catchy, fun songs about stuff" - the 405
"Their raw Arctic Monkeys-meets-Beach Boys sound...[is] a testament that these guys need to be signed. This album canʼt be missed; itʼs filled with beautiful lyrics, catchy music thatʼll bring back memories of favorite 60ʼs rock bands, and a stellar rhythm section that pushes that 60ʼs rock sound forward into the 21st century." - Cracked Vinyl -

Layne Montgomery Paper Company-Let’s Be Sad Together
Rising from the ashes of beloved Brooklyn drunk-rockers The Great American Novel, Layne Montgomery Paper Company is the brainchild of Layne Montgomery, Pete Kilpin, Aidan Shepard and Max Miller. They released the Let's Be Sad Together EP (produced by former Passion Pit and Team Spirit member Ayad Al Adhamy) in late 2016 through New Jersey-based label Rhyme and Reason Records. The band is currently building up a following in their hometown of New York, while working on their full-length LP at Diamond City Studio with Ayad Al Adhamy.

writing catchy pop songs he is glued to iTunes listening to obscure comedy podcasts.
He currently lives in NYC.
