Bio
Miami-born-and-raised La Veda has a sound that you might call Underground Soul Electronica Dance, with undercurrents of jazz and lounge.
Whatever you call it, you won’t forget her
luxuriant voice, her deft, hummable hooks, and her individualistic lyrics. Her first solo album, “Sticky/Foreplay,” just released on Harlem Station Recordings, has the authoritative grooves you’d expect from someone who’s collaborated with Tricky, N’Dinga Gaba, Kimani Wilson, Charles Dockins, The Undah-Dub, CJ Burken,Trevor Goodchilde,Dana Byrd and Kenny “The Human Orchestra” Muhammad, among other luminaries— TheVision and Element for Titanz Entertainment, Cudda Brown, Line Noise, 418, Daniel Pinks, Steve Paradise, and Tantra Zawadi.
La Veda now brings an electrifying stage presence, honed in Miami, New York, and Baltimore, and the tastemakers are lending their ears to her sound.
My Story:
"I have always wanted to capture the sweet essence of love in song. That pleasure of the first time, of discovering what tugs at the heart. I have always loved language, and I grew up in a home where music was sung, by artists, that were extraordinary at sharing a story, creating a mood, and leaving the listener in a delicate embrace. That left an impression on me.
