Singer-Songwriter, Laura LaVelle balances the abstract artistic borderlines, blending simplistic elements of poetry and music. Like a 19th century poet with a modern-day edge, her folky lyrical and melodic phrases transcend listeners into a masterpiece of mood. LaVelle’s soulful voice and simple fingerpicking sounds turn emotions, fuse chaos with clarity, and above all display an addictive extraordinary personality.
LaVelle's distinctive vocals and guitar arrangements exhibit her love for jazz by featuring rich songs paired with splashes of improvisation and altered melodies. Yet, in LaVelle's recent works she has exposed a new found love and understanding of an often forgotten art, true Americana Folk. In her debut album Parlour Pennies, she has combined her two forms of expression into a truly unique, fully harmonious style.
