"...you guys really create some amazing soundscapes and a very minimalist approach. Very atmospheric, its like your songs are mini movies...midnight driving music, if you will. But it’s also a very big sound...I’m looking forward to hearing more of this." - NWCZ Radio Interview
"Seattle indies who blend contrasting elements into slick songwriting. It’s like baroque for Gen Y..." - Jukebox Heroines Blog
"...operatic chamber rock, with the occasional "oom pah pah" and hints of horror. Vocalist Rebeqa Rivers has a powerful, trained voice that's full of potential. Stand by for the band's full-length debut next year." - Seattle Weekly Online

"People often ask Seattle band Latitude x Longitude to describe their unique sound, because as vocalist Rebeqa Rivers can attest, it's not exactly categorizable. But after giving it much thought, Rivers says Steampunk seemed perfect. No doubt once giving them a listen that seems pretty accurate. Rivers' gorgeous voice is layered over mandolin and toy piano sounds, as well as Spencer Smith's guitar and sometimes drums. They even have a visual artist as an official member of the band: Michelle Anders. From the bands press page: "Paired with LxL's inquisitive lyrics, Anderst examines the patterns and elegance of the machinery, anatomy, flora, and fauna that surround everyday life." - www.boingboing.net

THE BAND:
Called a "Pacific Northwest Band to Watch" (JukeboxHeroines.com) Latitude x Longitude cooks up a bit of vaudevillian nostalgia for the modern rock listener. Theatrical and fun while showing some serious musical chops, one interviewer describes their songs as "little, mini movies" - a theme repeated in an online listener review comparing the album to a musical equivalent of a David Lynch movie.
THE SOUND:
Powerful, classically-trained vocals float over driving guitar and a dynamic rhythm section. Hard hitting rhythms and heavy textures are often infused with the lighthearted sounds of glockenspiel and toy piano, adding an element of the surreal. Infectious melodies and complex guitar riffs appeal to casual listeners and music buffs alike.
HOW IS THAT PRONOUNCED??
Pronounced "Latitude by Longitude" and also dubbed "LxL" by fans.
