Ahem...record companies...pay attention
Ladies and gentlemen, we have discovered Junk Male! Well, we didn't discover them. They sent us their cd. What I want to know is why I havent't heard them on the radio yet! Every song on the cd is a good solid pop song and every song could be a hit song. Maybe they don't have good abs, I dunno.
If you like the Goo Goo Dolls, Matchbox 20, Sugar Ray and that ilk, then this is a cd you should check out. One thing I like especially is that all the songs don't sound the same. The composer is Larry May. He has a very sexy voice and writes great lyrics. As of this writing, I can't decide what my favorite song is. The opening tune, "What Would You Do For Money" grabbed me right away, "temp," the title song is also a good song and the lyrics speak to the 20 somethings out there trying to make it in the world. "Red Lipstick and Tanqueray" might be my fave becaused of the Brazilian beat and the catchy refrain..."You kiss me 10 times a day, red lipstick and tanqueray" I've played that one over and over. (Uh oh.. You listening A&R people?) "Mattress" is another great song. Oh just buy this cd! Kudos to Junk Male for being anything but JUNK! - thenightguide.com
