He uses the disorder not only as creative fuel, but a tool, filling sleepless nights with making music. Since Mayfield started writing and recording in 2005, he’s released 11 recordings — several full-lengths among a handful of EPs, compilations and B-side albums — with a dirty dozenth in the works.
The discography covers the gamut of musical genres, each a snapshot of some surreal moment. - Oklahoma Gazette

Bio
Larry Chin began in early 2003 as a bedroom recording project for Kyle Mayfield. It has always been an outlet for the prolific musician's output that didn't quite fit in with his other projects (The Uglysuit, Junebug Spade, Feathered Rabbit, O Fidelis, The Simples). What began as a acoustic adventure with sparse demos featuring homemade recordings eventually blosomed into a musical collective featuring many musicians across the Oklahoma music scene, and some from across the world, via the internet. The idea for the band remains the same: a sonic venture not limited by any specific genre but still focused around the unique voice of the character "Larry Chin" who plays a prominent role in the story that ties every album together. In recent years, a live lineup has been solidified and refined with the intention of translating the sprawling tale of Larry Chin in an intense and captivating live performance.
