With a fair bit of fuss surrounding Domino's latest signings, the Bordeaux-based Francois & The Atlas Mountains, it's not too surprising to see a few more French acts beginning to make some waves over here.
La Femme are a great example. They play a one-off gig at London's Upstairs At The Garage venue on February 1, and judging by the meek online profile they have – seriously, they're RUBBISH to Google – it's well worth checking out.
Le Podium #1 : La Femme by La Femme
The first track 'Sur La Planche' is a super-impressive Cure-meets-Tron retread with France Gall vocals and a lovely Libs esque guitar line at the end - I can't argue with it, really. - NME
