Allston’s L.S.C have never been ones to shy away from an experiment. The quartet’s clean sound dips into ink in the realms of electronic to alternative and everything in between, and pushes towards the different with every track. Such is the case with this new tune, “XO Chemistry” from their new EP, Cops and Robbers, out this week. Starting off light and synthy, the band creates a calm before the storm. When the beat drops, a tense robotic rock groove carries the tune through spells of hard-driving verses and infectious choruses. They leave good space for a guitar solo too. Not just any guitar break either, it’s a pretty kickass, 80’s inspired shreddy solo which kind of rules. Bio
Michael Ajudua formed Light.Sweet.Crude with 6 other members while studying percussion at Berklee in 2010. All of the founding members moved on to other projects, or other zip codes, and Light.Sweet.Crude has gone through several iterations to finally land on the current trio. Matthias Hussman (drummer on grammy-winning albums) and Dan Aden (Singer of 'Summer of Aden') joined in 2013. Nat Arrow joined on as lead guitarist in early 2012, a veteran of the Thai funk-rock outfit OverMe.
