Please welcome to the stage, the latest entry in our famed Unsigned Hype series (brought to you in partnership with the Bridge Promotion) 20 year old Texas born emcee: L.E.O (pronounce the letters).
Houston, Texas is the birthplace of L.E.O (born Ricky Johnson Jr.) on August 16th, 1995. Although his Mother & Father were never married, both parents and their respective families played an integral part in his life. During his early childhood, L.E.O watched his Mother hold two jobs in order to move her family out of a neighborhood that slowly became overwhelmed with violence, drug use, and gang related activities in Southwest Houston. L.E.O’s Mother provided him with a more suitable area to experience a pleasant childhood after moving to the west side of Houston. Between his Father, Uncle and extended family members also involved in the world of music, L.E.O was unknowingly gaining knowledge and passion for the music world which has led to the Hip-Hop artist he is today.
In June of this year L.E.O. dropped his debut mixtape, the highly praised "Look No Further". The tape features guest work from fellow 2nd Nature conglomerate members Jay Brown and Y.V. The sound? "A blend of trendy bass heavy, boom-bap tracks", L.E.O is looking to appease the ears of all Hip-Hop listeners on this one and as far as we're concerned, this up and comer has done just that. - The Platform Radio
