"After hearing Kristina Furey's samples online, the Burke Centre Festival team was anxious to book her for our 2009 show. Kristina's melodious voice and sound didn't let us down and her performance was a standout over the Festival weekend. It was terrific having such a talented professional perform during our community's signature event. We already have her booked for next year!" -Jeannie Winslow, Burke Festival - Jeannie Winslow
"The annual celebration of the opening of ArtSpace Herndon was a success by all measures. Contributing to that success was the wonderful music performed by local artists Dan and Kristina Furey. Their original tunes, augmented by popular covers, truly made our event a delight to both the Board of Directors and those attending this family oriented outdoor artistic affair. Their performance was the highlight of the afternoon and well received by all. Kudos to both of them for a job very well done. We look forward to seeing more of them at future events in Herndon!"---Ellen Kaminsky Board of Directors ArtSpace Herndon

Bio
Kristina is a Northern Virginia, singer songwriter that performs in an acoustic pop duo consisting of both original and cover tunes with her husband, guitarist, Dan Furey. What sets them apart from most acoustic acts is their high energy level. This is not a duo that performs sitting down or has ever been described as predictable. They engage the audience and take them on a musical roller coaster ride. Dan may start a guitar loop with some percussion, then add some rhythm guitar, then maybe bring out some wah pedal, or even throw in a solo. On the next song he might get seriously thoughtful and do some picking. Kristina might grab the mic off the stand and head towards the audience or leave it put and start dancing, depending on what the mood of the song calls for. They cover a variety of music from Eva Cassidy’s “Say Goodbye,” and Corinne Bailey Rae's "Let Your Hair Down" to Michael Franti's "Say Hey" and Cee Lo Green's "Forget You" Listening to them perform is like tuning into an Adult Contemporary radio station. As for their originals, they are a natural fit for the cover tunes they perform.
