Bio
Equally inspired by Kings of Leon, Sigur Ros and the Doors, NYC-based KITARI are a high-energy quartet combining alternative rock with a healthy dose of psychedelic post-rock.
KITARI can trace its origins back to December 2015, when Jared Rinaldi(vocals, guitar) happened to stumble into indie-music mecca Arlene's Grocery and saw Jim Saint-Amour drumming in a live drum n' bass band. Impressed by Jim's insane speed and polyrhythmic flourishes, Jared sent Jim some rough demos and asked the drummer if he wanted to contribute his skills to a 3 song demo album to be recorded at Applehead Studios in Woodstock, NY, with Chris Bittner (Coheed and Cambria, Team Sleep) as producer. Jim liked what he heard and jumped on board.
Flash forward to Fall 2017, and KITARI has quite the track record for just being together a year and a half. The band has released a three-song EP and are gearing up for the release of their second EP on 11/11/17. They've been packing houses at dozens of shows all throughout NYC at such renowned venues as Mercury Lounge, Arlene's Grocery, Bowery Electric and the Shrine, and have released a music video for their blisteringly hot single "Ghost City Shores." One of their more epic songs, entitled "The Scarecrow & the Manor" has even been played multiple times on "The Locally Grown w/ MK" show on Radio Woodstock, 100.1 FM.
The quartet is rounded out by the awesome stage presence of Boris the bassist and key-tickler extraordinaire Dr. Peaux, their skills being the icing on the Kitari cake. They are currently filming another three music videos for their songs "On the Third Day," "The Scarecrow & the Manor" and "Feast of Fiends," in anticipation of the release of their second EP on 11/11/17.
