The new Album “Get Loud” by Swedish bred artist KingQueen makes you do just that. Beginning with the opening track “Tornado” which has one of the catchiest shout along chorus I’ve heard in a long time, KingQueen gets her message out right off the bat. She wants to make you dance and have fun, but most importantly she wants you to “Get Loud”…and this album makes it very easy to do so. With infectious choruses in all 9 of the songs on the album, you will be singing along in no time. This album reminded me why I love Swedish bands so much. They are undeniably fun! And not afraid to be so. They aren’t trying hard to be obscure and different. Instead they take what has worked before and make it work again. Melody, melody, melody equals hits! It’s not often you come across an album where every song is good, but this album, I have to say, not one song is bad. And the best part is that all of the songs are unique in their own way.
There’s a good balance of fast paced, poppy rock songs mixed with a handful of ballads. The song “Romantic” reminded me of some classic Roxette and the song is rich in it’s simplicity. “Rollercoaster” is a fun song that shouts “I’m gonna dance all night to get over you” which is destined to be an anthem for all broken hearted girls around the world. It also has some interesting synths going on in this track which adds depth and gives it somewhat of an 80's vibe…and come on, who doesn’t love a good 80's jam, right? “James Dean” has the same synth feel to it and once again, a catchy as hell chorus. But the songs that stood out the most to me were 2 ballads, or slow songs, if you will. “Just Go Home” and “Don’t say You’re Sorry.”
The former of the two, tells the story of a break up, which we can all relate to, but it’s executed in a way that is very empowering. By the end of the song, it is clear, this girl is over the pain, doesn’t care about ANY of the good memories because things have gone so far off track she just wants you to go h! ome! “Don’t say You’re sorry” is the last track on the CD and in my opinion, might just be the best. It starts off as a beautifully haunting acoustic song, but quickly picks up tempo in the second verse and finally by the end of the song it’s so up tempo, you forget you are even listening to the same song. The way it flows so naturally and seemlessly is quite impressive. That song has hit and classic written all over it. All in all, I was impressed with this album more than I was expecting to be. Way to go Sweden, you did it again! Do yourself a favor and “Get Loud” with KingQueen. - Nelle Smith

I suck at describing artists (best I can come up with is 'scandinavian Kesha'), so just have a listen, I have a feeling quite a lot of people on here will like what they hear and see..

Back in February I named Swedish pop star Sabrina KingQueen (AKA Sabrina Petrini) one of my "Ones To Watch in 2011," and reporting that her debut album would be out in March. Well, clearly March has come and gone with virtually no word. Turns out there was a reason, and it's one that we hear about all too often in the music biz. On April 25th Sabrina KingQueen formerly announced that she has parted ways with Swedish label B.A.M. (Brash Accord Music). In the press release she states that the album (La La Land) has been recorded but that she was waiting on her label. Clearly nothing came of that waiting and Petrini decided to do what was best for her and her career.
This is definitely SAD NEWS but it sounds like it was the right decision. If the label isn't doing it's job, what more can you do? Severing ties was the only option. She has the passion and clearly wants to get music out there to the people, but not in a way that compromises who she is as an artist. Good for her for standing up for herself and her body of work. I'm confident that we will hear more from Sabrina KingQueen in the near future - and so is she.
"I want to say thank you to all my fans! Without you, I wouldn't have the need to fight so hard for all of this. Thank you to friends and family that have been there as well. I am strong but with you I am so much stronger. I won't let myself or anybody else down if I stand up and stand proud because I am not a quitter. This will take time but I know with you by my side it will all fly by fast and before you know it; I will have a new album, new singles, new videos and a new show for you all."
Check out Sabrina KingQueen's full statement below the cut. Wishing you the best Sabrina! Come back to us soon!
To my friends, family, and most importantly my dear fans;
So this isn't easy, I am in the difficult situation of stepping away from the last 2 years of my life.
I am leaving my Label to free myself from the restrictions and difficulties that have been put in place by my Swedish label, B.A.M. (Brash Accord Music).
These 2 years were full of recording and working with my Swedish label B.A.M. (Brash Accord Music). It's like breaking up with someone you have been in a bad relationship with. The ups and downs of the past 2 years have made life amazing, but I also have a limit for what I allow myself to be a part of and when it comes to my art and passion, my Music.
This decision comes as a very difficult one, but based on how I view my future and musical direction, B.A.M. and I can no longer work together.
I have recorded my album La La Land and have been waiting for my label to keep the deadlines on promotional items. Its now 3 months later and I still don't have what I need in my eyes to share my art with all of you.
The A&R Rep refuses to answer the tough questions through emails or by phone about work. My management can't do their job without proper communication and I can't do my job if I stay with this label.
I love the work I have done, I love all my babies (my songs and album). But I also need to protect them with putting them down for a while until all of this is sorted out.
Don't worry, I am not a quitter, this is not in anyway keeping me from working on the future. Now I have even more to write about and another story to tell the world. The time has come and it's time for new projects and new experiences to explore. I can't wait to share all the new things with everyone.
I have already started connecting dots with a new team and I finally feel like I have met new members of my little family.
I pray for this to be a fast process and that the label will let me go in peace. We have had our good times but also a lot of bad times. Sometimes you meet people that understand exactly what and who you are and sometimes they just don't.
I hope that the label understands why this is the point we have come too, but at the end of the day, I am blessed to have a manager that is there for me and a team that supports me to the fullest.
With this I want to say thank you to all my fans! Without you, I wouldn't have the need to fight so hard for all of this. Thank you to friends and family that have been there as well. I am strong but with you I am so much stronger. I won't let myself or anybody else down if I stand up and stand proud because I am not a quitter.
This will take time but I know with you by my side it will all fly by fast and before you know it; I will have a new album, new singles, new videos and a new show for you all.
I LOVE YOU
xoxo
SABRINA KINGQUEEN
- Music Is My King Size Bed
Helsingborg mot Hollywood
Sabrina Petrini sjöng, dansade och satte upp musikaler redan när hon gick gymnasiet i Helsingborg. Sedan dess har karriären gått vidare. Till Hollywood, Los Angeles. Som KingQueen.

MALACHI BANALES
MER.
På hemsidan står hennes motto: "Born to entertain".
– KingQueen är mer en personlighet, en karaktär. Det är någon som vill nånting and wanna go for it...
Bland annat "U make me (LOL)" och "Luv drug".
I Los Angeles möter hon ofta kända ansikten.

I feel like 'SWEDEN' should be synonymous with POP MUSIC. Every time I turn around there's some BIG NEW artist on the horizon and surprise surprise - they are from Sweden! Robyn, Lykke Li, Agnes, Lisa Miskovsky, Elena Paparizou, Velvet...the list just goes on and on and there are new ones being discovered almost daily!
The latest discovery is 23-year old Sabrina Petrini. Petrini, who goes by the name KingQueen, hails from Helsingborg, located on Sweden's south-west coast. After leaving Sweden at the age of 20, KingQueen moved to London and soon discovered just how deep her passion for music really was. After attending the London Centre of Contemporary Music, KingQueen grew bored with London and sought out greener pastures in sunny Los Angeles.
As an artist, KingQueen blends pop, rock and electro sounds into a completely unique package. In the video for her single, "U Make Me (LOL)" she works a little bit of Joan Jett rocker look, which is a good indicator of the diverse range of influences that feed into her sound. The song is an up-tempo club banger unlike anything I've ever heard before. There's just something about KingQueen that I can't quite put my finger on. Vocally the song is more spoken than it is sung (a la Ke$ha) but it's clear that she just oozes talent. Previous single "Luv Drug" exhibits a bit more vocal range but it quickly reverts back to the speak-singing that seems to define her sound. It's not till you listen to songs like "NOH8" and her cover of Lady Gaga's "Poker Face" that you really get a sense of her true vocal talent. "No Pain" is another gem of a pop song, abandoning the electro-pop sounds so prevalent in her first two releases, she strips things back and just does her thing. I'm eager to hear what else this talented Swede comes up with.
KingQueen has been featured on MTV.com, reaching #2 on the popular music channel's 'New Artist' list. GLBT channel LogoTV has also featured her video several times on their 'NewNowNext' show. Most recently, KingQueen appeared on the American Music Awards Coca-Cola Red Carpet Show. We can expect her debut album to drop in March 2011 on the BAM (Brash Accord Music) label. Check out the video for "U Make Me (LOL)" below.

Overview: KingQueen tells the story of Sabrina, the expressful emo-spirit that climbed her artistry through London and Los Angeles to fulfill her life mission - to entertain. She found herself at home in the heart of Hollywood where she wrote songs about all the crazy experiences she came across during her journey. In 2009, KingQueen was discovered while playing at the legendary House of Blues in West Hollywood. In fascination with her strong appearance the label offered KingQueen a record deal to spread her stories across the globe. She followed her dreams back to Stockholm, capital of her birth country Sweden, to record her album with Swedish top producers SEB1 & JOZ-F. KingQueens debut album Fashioncore (2010) spell the dark and reckless stories from her vivid Hollyworld - mixed into a unique fusion of rock, electro-club and punk - directly and uncensored from this upfront storyteller. - Z100

Hon opererar under artistnamnet Kingqueen.
- EXPRESSEN (SWE)

Sabrina Petrini (born March 25, 1987), known by her stage name KingQueen, is a Swedish singer from Helsingborg. She began performing from an early age in Helsingborg, Sweden. Being where she was born and raised up until leaving at age 20. Sabrina has had many different paths that have led her to "...the place where she feels most comfortable..." [1]
This place is her home currently, Los Angeles, California. Moving to the entertainment capitol of the world, she now is located in a place to continue and perfect/develop her craft/art of performance.
Sabrina spent the majority of her life creating art as she describes. From writing songs on a competitive level, becoming a dance instructor, and producing her own musicals. Before moving to Los Angeles, Sabrina relocated from her home in Sweden to London. Up until this point it wasn't fully understood that she had a passion for music and entertaining the world. London would be the place where she discovered the level and intensity of her drive to entertain.
While living in London Sabrina attended LCCM (London Centre of Contemporary Music) where she started to develop the art that she performs today. After a short while, Sabrina began to find London lacking the inspiration and creativity she longed for and knew she was about to embark on the next leg of her journey. This next step was made apparent to her over dinner in a small flat in London. Inspired by an American friend of hers, Sabrina was meant to discover America.
Since Sabrina felt that she had done what she could at LCCM and it was time to take the next step to grow as an artist and woman. Wanting to continue her education in Music and the arts, Sabrina found Musicians Institute was the destination she had been longing for.
Having been raised in Sweden, Sabrina spent her life obsessed with American culture and the potential for success founded in American culture/values.[2]
Utilizing this drive for a future, KingQueen has been able to overcome many obstacles that have risen. Further propelling her towards the goals she sets for herself. Trying to achieve a mission that she states "To be your master, your keeper, your everything. Let me be your entertainment and you won’t forget this show." [3]
KingQueen is her story of life and the way she views herself and the world, from performances to life in general she attempts to tell this story from her clothing, to her attitude.[4] Having been characterized as eccentric and intense, draws up musical style comparisons to acts such as Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, and Joan Jett.
Releasing her first two singles late 2009, and early 2010, Sabrina had the ability to give easier access, via the internet, to her voice and talent, for her ever growing fan base. Her continued work in the studio has allowed her to complete an EP which was also released early 2010. Along with the recordings, KingQueen has released two music videos, the video for the song "U Make Me (LOL)",[5] as well as a video for her first single "Luv Drug" [6][7] - WIKIPEDIA
“It will make you wanna move, It will make you wanna speak your mind and never ever look back.” From Sweden to Hollywood, KingQueen is making people do just that. A student at the Musicians Institute, this pop singer originally from Helsingborg, Sweden is making music perfect for today’s club scene. With hints of P!nk, Lady Gaga, and Joan Jett her music exudes confidence and the essence of this strong beautiful woman.
She confesses, however, that she often feels anxious and shy. Ever since a young age, she ha expressed herself in her music. Listen to her music and you’ll find a sexy pop-rock sensation in the making, but talk to her to directly and you’ll find a down-to-earth caring woman who has not been fazed by the thousands of views of her viral music videos. - MUSIC SCHOOLED

Congrats KingQueen!
Listen to KingsQueen’s “No Pain” - THE HYPE
I've been listening to KingQueen's "U Make Me (LOL)" on repeat since last weekend, and I don't think I'll be stopping any time soon. The robotic vocals and techno beat keep me dancing, and the lyrics are perfect for any scorned ex-girlfriend.
With lines like "Yes, I flushed your lashes in the toilet/Yes, I threw your lipstick through the window/Now smile for the camera, baby/Enjoy your act 'cause one day maybe/Your money and your last name won't count/And I will ha-ha-ha," who needs a significant other?
Plus, a little black latex can make any video that much better. Think Single Ladies meets The Matrix: - MTV TJ

What's the meaning behind KingQueen's name?
KingQueen is more a personality than a character. It stands for a strength that is beautiful. Anyone who follows a dream and goes for it is a KingQueen. So it stands for a personality.
How did you get started with all this?
It was something that was magical since I was a child. It was more interesting to me than anything else. I would watch musicals and music videos and be amazed and I knew I wanted to be a part of that magic forever. I started taking vocal lessons and I played piano. I started dancing and I became a dance teacher. When I was 19 I attended a music college in London and then after a year I decided to go to Musicians Institute in Los Angeles. And during my time at MI I started networking in LA and got my connections to continue towards my goals as an entertainer.
What's the message you want to transmit with your music?
To speak up, to always be true to yourself and to be the person you always dreamt about being.
What plans do you have for the future?
Keep on doing what I am doing now. Playing bigger venues and growing as an artist.
What has been the greatest moment in your career?
The AMA’s was def the best week of my life. It was the first time ever where I was a part of a big production and also the experience of being at the NOKIA theatre with my all access pass as a talent and not as a guest was just magical. I remember sitting in the rehearsal and watching Katy Perry and thinking to myself "I'm here, I'm here... And I am here as an artist, not as a visitor".. It was cool.
How would you define your music?
It's clubrock. Clubby sounds with edgy lyrics and vocals.
Are you ok with the direction you're moving so far?
Absolutely, I don't do things I don't feel like doing.

Insomnia ftw - Nikeisha (SWE)

Now I’m never quite sure that when you’re a new artist breaking out your own sound whether it’s deemed helpful of someone like me drawing upon references of successful comparables, but in the case of L.A. living super Swede KingQueen the list equates to a whammy of pop rocking prestige that includes to my mind elements of Pink, Avril Lavigne, Ke$ha, Natalia Kills, Mz Gaga herself and oddly enough even threw by mind back further to Orange County lovely one Stefy Rae
KingQueen is an electrifyingly feisty pop rock fox whose tunes are fuelled up with a ferociously crunchy bite and have been stirring the interest over at MTV and Logo TV with her first two throbbing power pop releases “You Make Me (LOL)” and “Luv Drug”.
No messin with this girlfriend she means business, cross her path and she’ll throw your lashes in the toilet, throw your lippy through the window and probably wouldn’t take no prisoners in bursting a few soapy pop bubbles with her towering stilettos and heaven knows what else she’d do if piece of bubblegum stopped her in her tracks!
Anyway I’m feeling tippidy top of the world this morning for having a mini blasting of KingQueen empowerment. Infact, I’m zingingly extra super doper, dopes at the news that whole debut album’s worth is set ready to pounce on us in the Spring.
