"Genuine Honesty, Depth and Passion"

I was expecting to find a female Jeff Buckley. I was told to expect a total loon, a loud American freak-tard who has violent tendencies when fuelled on whiskey and well, just overbearingly American.

I actually found a tall, talented, deceptively beautiful, compassionate, charming, caring and considerate person whose songs are also at odds with the moody booze fuelled hedonistic image as mentioned by others.

Yes there are shades of Buckley-isms only it is Garrison's own poetic talents that come through and not just another stolen identity. Her songs reflect a recent life in San Francisco and New York, the love found and lost therein fueling the genuine honesty, depth and passion of her music.

Originally a saxophonist, Garrison switched to guitar based singer-songwriting in 2002. A burning need to express her inner self has propelled her to this moment in time, urging her to make small, tentative and at times enigmatic steps into the wider world. Encouragement is generated from an intimate circle of friends and even more resides from the growing number of fans who have enticed her towards the recording studio. An EP has been blocked out and should be ready for release during 2008.

I suspect that this offering will be only a temporary gift whilst she comes to terms with the whole thing and realizes that she is no longer living the safe and comfortable corporate life but has joined the ranks of a long tradition of fine and accomplished American musicians and writers. It is difficult to say at this stage where all this will take her only riding the tube back with Kim Garrison I was left with a deep notion that I was standing next to someone who is more than special. - www.davidrenfrey.com

"Complex Simplicity, Honest Humanity and Pervasive Matters of the Heart"

Usually, when one encounters The Deep, there is an overwhelming sense of great stillness, of awe, of a magnificent unknown. Kim Garrison's music is profoundly deep but teeming with myriads of moving, tangible, musical entities that glide above and dive below in an olio of well-controlled chaos that is otherwise known as.....Love. Indeed, the songs here are derived of complex simplicity, honest humanity and pervasive matters of the heart, where the music is so subtly performed it is nearly an afterthought of what she wants you to understand. - Tim Demillo

"Kim Garrison @ Pete's Candy Store"

- http://www.electionsong.blogspot.com/
