Bio
Kimberly Begin grew up around the greats of southern rock, bluegrass, blues and country music, sharing the stage since she was 7 with artists such as the Marshall Tucker Band, Molly Hatchet, Bonnie Bramlett, Dickie Betts and Charlie Daniels. Doug Gray of the Marshall Tucker Band was a mentor to her for 6 years, pushing her out on stage and pushing her to be an artist with soul and appreciation for other musicians. Classically trained in opera for eight years, Kimberly used her extensive musical education to expand herself as a contemporary artist. She gained further experience while attending high school in Florida, singing and playing guitar in acoustic acts and rock bands, gathering a following of her peers and opening for artists like Hagus Magagus and Paul Baribeau. In February of 2008, Kimberly auditioned for the Berklee College of Music and received a scholarship to study contemporary voice and songwriting. Now based out of Boston, Kimberly continues to write and perform, playing at Berklee’s Café 939, Harper's Ferry, The Middle East, and other venues around the city. Kimberly just finished recording her first album, Great Pine Summer, at Time Bomb Studios in Boston.
