LA's Kid Cadaver are teaming up with AP for a premiere of their song “Keep Well,” along with an accompanying music video. If neon pop-punk had a new wave revival, this trio would likely lead the pack. Check out the track and clip below. Be sure to leave us a comment with your thoughts!
“This video was incredibly fun to shoot,” said the band. “Sweaty and nostalgic. We packed a bunch of friends into a room and just made a hang-out of it. We couldn't really play to the Game of Thrones inspired lyrics with this video as the plane tickets and CGI were out of our budget. George RR Martin was heartbroken.“
“Keep well” is taken from the band’s latest studio EP, Roam, which was released earlier this year. You can download the entire effort for free. - Alt Press
Kid Cadaver create the kind music that makes new friends almost immediately — infectious indie-pop with sticky choruses and a bright, wide-eyed outlook. Their single “New Friends,” released earlier this year, built on the momentum the trio of Ray Venta, Kenzo Cardenas and Jeremy Harris started with their 2013 debut. And the colorful video for the track, directed by Casey Curry, make you long for an invitation their next summertime party. Who’s got the right stuff, Team Yellow, Team Red or Team Green? “We knew right off the bat that we wanted to have fun making the video, so we got the ‘teams’ idea and brainstormed concepts til we landed on the water-balloon war,” Venta says. “And of course we had to all make friends and party at the end. Filming was a blast and it was awesome to bring a bunch of people together to do it.” If only all the world’s conflicts could be settled this way. The song will appear on the free EP “Roam” that Kid Cadaver is releasing Aug. 21 - Buzzbands LA
Kid Cadaver finally returns by leaking the first track, “New Friends,” off their forthcoming third EP. The song was well worth the wait as the Valley trio reliably delivers another catchy earworm of pop effects, melodic hooks, and gang vocals. We believe the next Foster the People has arrived. - Free Bike Valet
Embracing the ethos of SXSW, the San Fernando Valley based trio of Kid Cadaver are that band that no one at SXSW looked for, but were especially glad when they found ‘em. Bouncing, hook heavy, competent indie rock anchor the band’s sound, characteristics that all become plainly obvious with a spin of the band’s current single, “New Friends”. Still considered a buddening talent, it’s save to say that SXSW 2016 will likely have more showcases and later time slots for this LA threesome. - KROQ
