Bio
A prolific and soulful guitarist and charismatic performer, Williams is backed by Chuck Berry/Bo Diddley/James Montgomery alum Skip Fischer on drums and Boston Baked Blues bassist Bob Abruzese. The trio's influences are myriad and range from Eric Clapton to Albert King and everywhere in between. In the course of an evening it isn't uncommon to hear B.B. King homages seamlessly give way to renditions of favorites by Cream or the Rolling Stones.
After years of functioning as a session guitarist and sideman Williams released his solo debut as a songwriter "Hollywood Endings" in 2010. As the album evolved from studio project to live experience, much to his ever-growing audiences' delight, blues became the medium for delivery. His next release "Bourbon by her Bedside" (due out Summer 2013) is reflective of this evolution and features drummer Adam Chamberlain, bass virtuoso Ron Pacheco, and several other highly talented musicians joining the ranks of those eager to work with Williams. In Autumn of 2012 Williams recorded a rendition of Aerosmith's innuendo drenched blues cover, "Big Ten Inch Record," released on Nashville, TN based Versailles Records' "Millenium Tribute to Aerosmith" alongside tracks cut by a roster of talent such as former members of Motley Crue, Kiss, Poison, and more. This release boosted Williams' visibility to more mainstream rock audiences on a national level.
Recently tracks from his forthcoming blues laden album such as "Trust me, Baby" and "Bourbon by the Bedside" have received significant radio support on WCUW, WZLX, and various other satellite and internet blues radio shows. Following a live performance on PBS "Trust me, Baby" was also the incentive download for donating to Rhode Island PBS Broadcasting during a fundraiser airing of Joe Bonamassa's long-awaited acoustic release "Live at the Vienna Opera House." In Spring of 2012 Worcester Magazine hailed Williams as "New England's newest champion of the blues" and Winter of 2013 saw Providence Monthly offering their accolades as well, claiming that "Williams will no doubt continue carry the blues torch lit by [fellow Rhode Islander] Duke Robillard for many years to come."
