When you are ready for an evening out on the town and want to enjoy some quiet, soulful music, you need to check out local singer/songwriter Katrina Cain. Her eye catching looks, along with the spirit of her pure, clean voice and keyboard, goes perfect with a glass of wine and good friends. It is no surprise she is currently ranked #5 on the Denton Folk music chart, and moving up fast. Her sound will melt your troubles of the day away and set the tone for peaceful mood.
Katrina is based out of Denton, where she attends The University of North Texas and is enrolled in the jazz program, but performs in many other areas as well. She has played many venues in the DFW area as well as Austin, and the Kerrville Folk Festival. Cellar 22, a Denton wine bar, and Vigne Wine Shop, also in Denton, are just a couple of the many places you can find her performing.
While most of her setlist is composed of her well written originals such as Seven Hundred Pieces, Angels, and Saving Grace, Katrina also covers songs by other artists as well. You will immediately recognize them, and readily appreciate what she brings to the song itself. You can hear some of her original songs by visiting her website. Bio
Katrina is a singer-songwriter currently based in Denton, TX. She originally studied and performed jazz, before finding her own voice as a songwriter. Her soulful, folk-pop voice and catchy songwriting paired with the classically trained guitarist, Andrew McMillan, creates a hauntingly beautiful sound.
With lyrics born from their own experiences, both dark and beautiful, the duo offer a dreamlike, nostalgic view of love, heartbreak, and the uncertainty of life.
