Bio
A recent New York resident from Nashville via Knoxville, Tennessee, I have been actively playing music for close to 19 years. I started my first band as a senior in high school, moved to Knoxville to go to college, dropped out of college, and ended up spending my younger "adult" life there playing in bands and living in a dilapidated house with my bandmates and friends. In my mid twenties I played in a band called Dixie Dirt--a love affair that lasted nearly 8 years. We toured quite a bit, played Bonnaroo twice, and did our best to make a name for ourselves. When I was 29 I found out I was pregnant and spent the next five years reevaluating my priorities, growing up, and considering life paths other than music. The music was still in me, however, and after exploring other career options, I decided that writing, recording, and getting lost in the song could never be just a hobby. After nearly five years of residing in Nashville I hooked up with a wonderful band called By Lightning. We recorded two records and gained popularity in Music City after playing a handful of shows. I continued to write incessantly and home record while being in a band, working full time, and raising a son half of the time. Then I fell in love. This love led to a creative surge of nineteen songs in 3 months which ultimately became the album "Fall"--recorded at my home in East Nashville and with my bandmate Matt Moody, who engineered, mastered, and added his wonderful talents to the record. This love also led me to New York City, an opportunity I could not and would not pass up. I now live with my muse, my inspiration, and have the support and healthy creative confidence to pursue my musical aspirations. At the age of 35 I am finally ready to manifest a better life for myself, my son, and my love. And music is the key.
