Just Monroe

Just Monroe sprang from a Summer Open Mic Series at the Wysacky Trading Post in Waxhaw, NC, in the Summer of 2008. The host was singer songwriter Danny Kutcher and drummer David Brooks (aka Trouble) would sit in for artists needing percussion. A partnership soon began between them and Just Monroe was devised. The two would have an occasional bassist but would often just play a show as a duo, turning heads and garnering a lot of attention. By December they added bassist Ben Griffith (Koko) and immediately set about playing live as often as they could.

By the Summer of 2009 Six Cubic Feat Records signed the band and plans were set to record their debut CD “Everything For A Reason,” which was released in August 2009.

Just Monroe was founded as a band that only cares about the music and not chasing some prepackaged mystique about pop or rock music. We're the bus that stops to pick you up in the rain and carry you where you want to go. No fees, plenty of seats, you can ride standing or sitting, heck even forward of the yellow line. Get on-board!
