THE JOSH BUCKLEY BAND
NOVEMBER 07, 2013 MODERNGALA NO COMMENTS
Why did you pick your band name?
Well, the band name started as a solo “Josh Buckley” with a backup band, but they were too good and too loyal to not be recognized as more. We decided “Josh Buckley Band” or “JBB” was a better fit.
How did you form?
We met at a place downtown called “Open Mics” back in 2010.
Why did you decide to play the genre or genres that you do?
I’m a country boy and country music is where my heart has always been, even through the many years of playing rock music. I write songs that tell a story of how I grew up, or songs that I feel would relate to someone’s life. Country music tells a great story and it’s real life stuff.
Do you ever change a song’s lyrics in live sets? What are your favorite switcheroos to throw in? (laughs) I change lyrics for different reasons on stage. Sometimes I just forget, but sometimes if a song lyric isn’t suitable for the venue or festival it is a must to look professional. I love to pick on the other members of the band and Auburn fans so I throw in a “Roll Tide” as needed also!
Where do you usually gather songwriting or set list inspiration?
I build the set list to keep the crowd wanting more, so slow songs early and then rock their faces off late in the night. Slow songs late can send people to the doors.
Do you have a band website? www.JoshBuckleyMusic.com
Do you have a Facebook or Twitter? We also have a Facebook , Youtube channel, Twitter, Sonicbid and Reverbnation account to reach out to the fans (Buckers), new venues, and talent scouts.
Since everyone was a startup once, can you give any smaller or local bands looking to get gig some tips? If I can give any advice to a band starting out, I would say practice, practice, practice!!! It’s true it makes perfect, and make sure the entire band is on the same page for goals. High energy is a great way to get booked; energy makes up for talent sometimes. Hard work can beat talent, if talent doesn’t work hard.
Anything you would like share, from new merch to upcoming shows/tours or songs/albums?
We are in the final steps of producing our freshman CD/digital recording. We will give out some freebies as soon as we get the mastering and tweaks done on it. - The local

Bio
From the red clay dirt roads of South Alabama comes the next wild eyed southern boy, Josh Buckley..While spending the last few years racing cars and hopping bars, he has cemented his love for the wide open, foot stomping style of todays modern country music.. With an old soul to ground him and a young heart to drive him, Josh has spent the last year putting together a band with extremely diverse backgrounds ranging from pop to rock to blues, and of course, Country. A band that truly has no limits was a must to back a guy that refuses to be put into a box, and packaged as just another rock and roll country singer. With his youth being spent listening to father Jerome play the classic country sounds of George, Waylon, and Willie, Josh learned a great appreciation for keeping it real, while realizing it had to be fresh and new.. " Music is emotion, and I want people to experience all there emotions when they see me play. I want them to feel comfortable, i want them to feel excited, I want them to get so caught up in there emotions that when we finish playing a show, they want to hear it again because it took them somewhere theyve never been, and theyve just got to get back there again !" With a high energy show, and a songlist jam packed with current Top 40, as well as classic and line dance country, the room at the top is about to get a little more crowded
