Bio
Joseph Pfeifer is a singer/songwriter from San Diego, California who has been involved in the local music scene for the past 15 years. Growing up with a father who was a classical pianist, he was exposed to music at a very young age. Picking up bits and pieces on the piano, he also began playing guitar at the age of 13. At the age of 19, he found himself living abroad in the Austrian Alps doing some serious soul-searching. After a 42-hour train ride with a friend to Eastern Europe he began helping out an orphanage singing a few simple songs in Ukrainian. “I was out in the middle of nowhere, in some unknown city, singing a few songs with these totally abandoned children. And this one little kid immediately befriended me. He didn’t have a father or a mother, but for a brief moment in time, I was able to be there for him. I’ll never forget his name: Andree. It impacted my life, dramatically. I knew playing music was what I was born to do and loving people was what I was called to do.” Citing “The times they are a’ changin” by Bob Dylan and “Parachutes” by Coldplay as pivotal albums of inspiration, Joseph soon began to write his own material. After years of playing in bands, in 2010, he released his debut album “Good Company”, an eclectic project teeming with acoustic-driven sounds; rootsy, honest lyrics; and warm vocals that complete the story behind each song.
