Jordan Benker

My name is Jordan “JT” Benker. My music can best be described as a fresh electropop/rock with a sound that is super fun. I am a singer and I also play guitar, bass, piano, mandolin, ukulele and harmonica. When it comes to music, performing is my true love. Performing to me isn’t just about sounding great in front of an audience, it’s about the adrenaline I share with the crowd when they hear their favorite song of mine, the energy and soul I put into every single lyric I sing and note I play, and most importantly, HAVING THE TIME OF MY LIFE. I’ve been performing for the past 6 years at venues across the Chicago-land and Boston area. I have played with a few major acts including: Ted Nugent, Cheap Trick, and Dr. Manhattan. My influences range from The Beatles to Guns N’ Roses to All Time Low and Panic! At the Disco. My first album “Listen Up, Baby!” was self-released on June 13th, 2011. All of the songs on the album were recorded, mixed, and produced by me, with all of the instruments being played by me as well.
I recently recorded a new EP with Stefan Clark of Cassette Company in Chicago. The EP entitled “Don’t Stop Running” is now available on iTunes. I play all kinds of shows ranging from intimate unplugged shows to loud and exciting electric shows with a band playing with me. I hope you enjoy my music and who I am. I’m not just another punk looking for his 15 minutes, but a real musician and a performer who truly gives a shit. Music is my life, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything... but in the end I am just a normal guy who loves hanging with his friends, throwing a Frisbee around, who’s laughing all the time, and no matter where my life takes me, my music and I are going to make a mark in the world.
