Jon Robert 2009

Jon Robert is a name that is synonymous with catchy pop melodies, great song-writing, emotive vocals, and sincere passion. A superb live performer, whether just Jon and his guitar or with his full band, Jon is a guaranteed crowd pleaser.

This Boston based singer / songwriter’s interest in a professional music career was kindled during his high school years through his participation as a vocalist in band, choir and stage productions. Inspired by the addition of acoustic guitars to his church choir, Jon picked up an old beater of his Mom’s and quickly developed into both an accomplished guitarist and budding songwriter.

After high school Jon relocated to the West Coast. His professional career began in San Diego, California with a last minute chance opportunity to play at a local club. Unknown to Jon at the time, in the crowd was the mother and manager of JOJO, who was impressed. She later contacted Jon and invited him to open a number of shows for the Boston Pop Star.

Since that chance encounter Jon has performed over 400 live shows to crowds of up to 18,000 in attendance. He’s shared the stage with a few acts you may be familiar with - Howie Day, Chris Barron (Spin Doctors), Blessid Union Of Souls, Aly & AJ, Taylor Hicks, Earth Wind & Fire, Matt Nathanson, The Pat McGee Band, Averi, Eve 6, As Fast As, Damien Rice, The Fools, and Eddie Money - just to name few.

This past Summer / Fall he was selected as a resident side stage performer for the Nikon Jones Beach NY / WaMu “live Stage” supporting James Taylor, John Mayer, Colbie Caillet, Maroon 5, Counting Crows, The Police, Elvis Costello, and the Jonas Brothers.

Jon’s national fan base continues to grow through aggressive social network exposure and his many performances at clubs, colleges and in recent months through bookings for private “house concerts”.

Having previously released a successful 5 track EP, Jon is riding the wave of excitement for the JUNE 2, 2009 release of his highly anticipated debut full-length album "MEANT TO BE".

Recorded at Spaceway studios in Dallas, and produced by Will Hunt, this is a record that has been long awaited by both fans and industry professionals both in the US and abroad.

With updates to J.R. standards such as “Touchdown”, “Myself In You”, “Clear”, “Only In Your Eyes” and “Back Home To You” (formerly “Outside of Richmond”). “MEANT TO BE” includes great new tunes such as Serena, “Marilyn (Way Down)”, “Summer’s Over” and the Mark Bryan (Hootie & The Blowfish) collaboration “Side of the Road”.

Already a hit with tunes licensed by MTV, ESPN and The CW Network, with songs featured in such shows as The Real World, The Gauntlet, The Hills, Road Rules, The Kardashians and Newport Harbor “MEANT TO BE” is poised to be one of the “must have” albums of 2009.
