Bio
With a style and sound of old folk/country/blues Johnny McIntyre brings to your ears a reminiscent taste of early rock’n’roll recordings. His song structures explore storytelling through clever use of dynamics, layered guitars and sharp lyrics. His latest EP ‘Fight the fear‘, was recorded live in the hall of an abandoned mansion and has an authentic rich natural reverb which creates a warm undertone throughout the recording.
He is rapidly developing a solid reputation for performing live both as solo act and as a trio join by talented upright bass player Korey Horwood and solid electric guitar/lap steel player Keith Davis.
Johnny dawns from the local music scene in South Australia. He has been playing and performing both locally and internationally since 2001. Highlights of his musical travels include performing in the 2006 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, performing at Skinny Fish's ten year anniversary on Elcho Island and performing as part of the 2010 Adelaide International Guitar Festival. Recently his attention has been focussed on the live promotion of his new release Fight the fear. He is performing regular shows in Melbourne and details of rural NSW and VIC tours are soon to be announced. Be sure to keep an eye out for this refreshingly honest and provocative songwriter as ripples are forming all around Johnny McIntyre and seem to be growing stronger with each performance.
Live or recorded expect to hear fiery stories forged with smooth melodies and warm tones.
