The best kept secret in music

Joe Lies showed why they are considered one of Long Island's leading original acts when they opened up for 80's greats Bow Wow Wow at the Downtown in Farmingdale on July 16th. Moving flawlessly through a set filled with fun, memorable pop punk melodies and driving rhythms, this nerd rock quartet delivered the goods as fans and new listeners alike took in their 10 song romp...
Radio friendly hit worthy songs like "Everybody But You Thinks We're In Love" got the crowd moving, and when Anthony Lies sat down behind the piano for "Star" they showed that they are as versatile as they are exciting to watch and listen to. If you are in the mood for some up and coming danceable pop punk that can deliver, catch them before you have to pay big bucks to see them. - Long Island Music Scene

Bio
For 3 years Joe Lies has delivered its own unique brand of catchy, radio friendly "nerd rock", in the tradition of Weezer, Fountains of Wayne, and others. Splahed with a flair for memorable melodies, driving hooks and a modern pop punk sensibility, this band translates well from CD to stage and continues to stand apart from others in their genre. Their lyrics are clever, witty and cutting, and cover subjects from bad relationships to buying stuff you don't need to kissing the daughter of a famous TV personality (is it true? we'll never tell!). Currently recording songs for their new CD, Joe Lies continues to make its mark in the NY area and plans a tour to support their upcoming release.
