singer/songwriter Joe Kay has been performing since the age of 11. A finalist in the Mid-Atlantic songwriting contest Joe has has the opportunity to share the stage with his musical heroes like Pete Seeger, David Amram, John Hall (Orleans), Chris Barron (Spin Doctors), Kate Taylor, Garrin Benfield, and Rob Norris (Bongos.) “His writing is more poetic and heavy than a lot of musicians three times his age…”Joe’s voice has a vigor and spirit at times, a broken weariness at others, all the while weaving a compelling story ” says music critic Rachel Tinmam. Inspired by his performance at the Illumination Foundations Annual Charity concert, and moved a by the Haitian Earthquake disaster, Joe organized a Benefit concert featuring his friends and heros in the Hudson Valley Music Community. The show was a great success raising over 3000 dollars and Joe was featured on the Cover of the Poughkeepsie Journal Weekend section. Recently Joe Has become involved in the power of Song which is a group of young musicians led by Pete Seeger. Recently Joe has appeared at The Clearwater Festival, The Walkway Over The Hudson 1 year anniversary, The Central Park Zoo Green Convention, and Bethel Woods Center for the Arts.
