Bio
J-Guden (Jason Gudenius) is a singer-songwriter writing poetic songs influenced by folk and alternative music.
Jason picked up the old Yamaha acoustic guitar lying around the house at age 16 and began writing and learning as many songs as he could. Countless nights were spent listening to old records, cds and flipping through radio stations trying to learn by ear any song that came on...from Motown to Rage Against the Machine to Top 40. Primary influences in this heavy learning period included The Beatles, Paul Simon, Crosby Stills and Nash, Neil Young, Oasis, Van Morrison (sans whatever he was getting into in the 80s), Dave Matthews Band, The Cure and countless single songs from other artists.
The debut album While the Cosmos Interweave is a collection of songs written between 1998 and 2007. Music from the album has been played on over 100 radio stations throughout the U.S. and Canada. While the Cosmos Interweave was voted one the best new releases for March 2011 by WMUH College Radio in Allentown PA and song plays online have topped 50,000.
Jason also plays bass and provides vocal harmonies for the Baltimore based Indie-Americana group The Petticoat Tea Room.
